It's mostly footage of athletes competing in their various events, but there are a few new shots from the movie in this Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Rio Olympics TV spot. In it, We see Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) giving a pep-talk of sorts to one of her crew (presumably Diego Luna's Captain Andor), and there's also a few glimpses of the Death Troopers in battle.

Be sure to keep an eye on CBM for the brand new trailer, which should be online by this Thursday.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release on December 16th, 2016.

It's too bad the Rebellion couldn't pass along the Death Star Plans Using the Olympic Athletes!
Especially on that Beach Scene.

Mon Motha would be much better off asking Usaine Bolt to Run Across the Beach and then pass the plans off to Ledecky so she could swim to the other side!

Hoping for good things out of this... but the reshoots do concern me. Suicide Squad did not help with that feeling, but different Studio... so hopefully different result.

@Kman - alot of movies go through reshoots. They usually happen from an organic place whereas suicide squad's were seemingly to change the tone of the movie and fix narrative issues they were having due to rushing into production.

Best Star wars ever... It will save the shame that was "A new hope awakens"

@pepe - I don't call it shame, just smart. Relaunch the universe with something familiar, clean up at the box office and then branch out to new territory from there. This is why you're not involved in their creative decisions.

Seeing as this movie takes place in the past l believe this means that Alderaan can still be a part of the Olympics.

@Stingzz, you know that feeling you felt when you walked out of the Original Trilogy movies at the theater and you were floored? Yeah, that's not ever, ever going to happen, why?

We have grown to seeing so much on tv, movies, special effects everywhere, all kinds of different movies and stories we have watched has diluted Star Wars movies. Right now the only reason we watched The Force Awakens.

We wanted to see the Original 3 again on the big screen, (spoiler alert) everyone wanted to see how Han died. But Star Wars feels just like another sci-fi tv show or movie. That magic is gone, why? Because of technology, what we see everyday, effects better than star wars back in the day.

That magic is gone, and will never return now. There's nothing to get excited about anymore.

This is why studios are rehashing the same movies over and over again, Star Trek, Star Wars, Superman, Indiana Jones, you get the picture.
