After watching the newest Star Wars Rebels trailer, many of you might have noticed the part that showed Ezra wielding a crossguard lightsaber, similar to the one Kylo Ren had in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. EP Dave Filoni spoke on that in his interview with Entertianment Weekly, and revealed that there is always links between all the stories told in the Star Wars universe. "I wanted to put a nod to this new history we’re seeing in The Force Awakens. It’s important to have these links between stories in major ways and subtle ways." He then added, "Here you find a sword we’ve encountered before, and it gives a little more context to something that turns up later." With that said, I leave you with this image from the trailer...

After analyzing the image above, many of you might find that the blast in that picture (which came from an ancient Sith temple) is similar to the blast we saw the Starkiller base shoot out in "The Force Awakens". Filoni, later in the interview, noted that there are indeed some similarities between the two. "History repeats itself. There are always these ideas in Star Wars about power, control, and might. This wouldn’t be the same thing as Starkiller Base, but you’re picking up on the visual similarities, which I think strengthens the mythology." What do you think about all of this? There was also the 'Old Master' who sounded an awful lot like Supreme Leader Snooki

@Hulksta

They actually revealed the identity of the Old Master earlier today. However, there's spoilers ahead if you watch the series.

You know what would be great?

A prequel set during the Clone Wars that stars Hayden Christiansen and Ewan McGregor that actually shows their friendship during the midst of the war.

I know the Clone Wars cartoon covers this era, but I'd prefer a film version.

Once again, it's part of a project to not remake the prequels but augment them with stories we can watch instead.

Oh my God Dave Filoni sucks as a showrunner, Rebels has so much potential but he pisses it away trying to make Ezra into Luke. He's not Luke! There shouldn't be so many f ucking people running around using the Force and swinging lightsabres.

I've never watched this series, but that trailer wasn't half bad.
