George Lucas Says His STAR WARS Sequels Would Have Travelled Into A "Microbiotic World"

Star Wars creator George Lucas has finally shed some light on what his Episode VII - IX would have looked like and admits that fans would have hated it as much as The Phantom Menace. Check it out...

While he was certainly taking his time with them, George Lucas did have plans for his own Star Wars trilogy before making the decision to sell Lucasfilm to Disney. Very little is known about them but it has previously been confirmed that it would have featured Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia in key roles as opposed to the supporting turns they were given in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

In an excerpt from James Cameron's Story Of Science Fiction, Lucas reveals that his version of Episode VII to IX would have taken things in a very different direction and revisited plot points from The Phantom Menace. Apparently, they "were going to get into a
microbiotic world. But there’s this world of creatures that operate differently than we do. I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force." So, yeah, sounds pretty weird, right?

Delving into that "
microbiotic world" certainly would have been different but fans already rejected the idea of midichlorians back in 1999 and Lucas realises that the same could have happened again.

"[Of] course, a lot of the fans would have hated it, just like they did Phantom Menace and everything, but at least the whole story from beginning to end would be told." There's no denying that it would have been good seeing Lucas wrap this story up in the way he wanted but it sounds awful so it's hard to mourn it too much! What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts below!
