Last night’s Disneyland 60 special on ABC saw a surprisingly enthusiastic Harrison Ford present a series of artist’s impressions and concept designs for the upcoming Star Wars Land at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

The Star Wars themed park was announced at last years D23 but details up to this point have been vague, with no official opening date announced.

Though we didn’t receive much new information on the specifics of the park, the special referred to at least two new attractions. One will involve “stepping aboard the Millenium Falcon and actually piloting the fastest ship in the galaxy” and another “finding yourself in the middle of a battle between the resistance and the first order”.

Those in attendance at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood were also treated to a live orchestral performance of the excerpts of the iconic Star Wars score against a backdrop of scenes from the films.

The Hollywood Report have published the below screens from last nights ABC special which give us our best idea yet of what to expect from the new theme park.

For fans of the 1986 Star Tours motion simulator ride - there is still no word as yet on whether the hapless Captain Rex will be returning to pilot the StarSpeeder 3000 through 4 minutes of chair vibrating cheesy 80s awesomeness.

For those who missed last night's special, the Disneyland Experience YouTube channel have uploaded the video of event.
