Has Simon Pegg Joined The Cast Of J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS EPISODE VII?

It looks like J.J. Abrams will be reuniting with at least one member of the Star Trek cast for Star Wars Episode VII as Simon Pegg (who also starred in Abrams' Mission Impossible 3) has apparently been spotted on the set shooting scenes in Abu Dhabi. Read on for details!

According to IGN Middle East, their sources have told them that Simon Pegg will indeed make an appearance in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII after being spitted on set to shoot scenes. Now, with the Hot Fuzz actor recently stating that "I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest. I think J.J. should cast new faces with no stunt casting," it seems possible that he was simply paying a visit to the set, but why would he do that when they're shooting in his home country?! The site goes on to add that Pegg has a secret role in the film, and so it seems likely that this is just a cameo appearance of some sort. Either way, we'll find out in a little over a year from now! Would you guys like to see Simon Pegg make the jump from Star Trek to Star Wars?

SuperCat knows what's up. While I love Pegg in almost everything he does, it'd be too much to have him appear in both. A bit like Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) playing a character in BvS.

I don't see the problem...especially if he just has a small role or a cameo.

I agree! Love Pegg but he's Scotty! Guess it would be ok if he's in heavy make-up though.

Remember the days when Franchises did not blur their lines by hiring the same actors and actresses? Surely there are enough struggling performers out their to bring fresh faces to these stories rather than cast them like fanboys trying to get their friends and family into an indie movie.

Pegg is such a huger Star Wars fan that I can't imagine his pal would make the movie without giving SOME kinda role in it.

This would be a dream come true for Pegg, just watch the Channel 4 series "Spaced" and you'll see how much of a die-hard Star Wars fan this man is. It'd be funny if he interacts with a descendant of Jar-Jar...

It's nice that he's very good friends with J.J. and can easily just walk on over to Star Wars because of that friendship.

Because let me tell you....if he had wanted to be in X-Men....

He'd have to audition for Bryan Singer like everyone else!

Star wars is a LONG TIME AGO. Star Trek is Way, WAY in the future, he couldn't and shouldn't play Scotty in Star Wars Episode VII. As long as he's in heavy make-up and unrecognizable and he changes his voice some, then I see no problem with it.

Would be awesome if Pegg showed up onscreen and said "I might be in the wrong place".
