Disney+ has announced that LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales will premiere on October 1 as part of what the streaming service is calling its "Hallowstream Celebration."

Along with a poster for this special, the voice cast has also been announced. While there are definitely some big names here, LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales isn't set to include anyone from the movies this time around (unlike last year's LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special).

That impressive ensemble includes Jake Green as Poe Dameron, Raphael Alejandro as Dean, Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt, Tony Hale as Vaneé, Christian Slater as Ren, Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as NI-L8, and Matt Sloan as Darth Vader.

Set after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, Poe and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt who has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé.

Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.

David Shayne wrote LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, while Ken Cunningham stepped into the director's chair. You can check out the poster for the upcoming animated feature below:

@Waddles - I'm a big fan of the terrible/awesome 1980 flick and Taika would be one of the few good fits for a new version, but I have a feeling this will be caught up in developmental Hell for awhile.

@Feralwookiee - on one hand a new Flash Gordon sounds great. On the other I don't want Waititi involved. It'll be too much like the 80s movie

@Dredd97 - Yeah. I'm kinda torn. Idk if you can capture the "magic" of the 80's movie by INTENTIONALLY trying to be meta or go for camp. It's a fine line to ride imo. Plus, I assume because it's modern Hollywood, Flash would likely become the butt of most jokes in the movie.

@Feralwookiee - I agree. I'd love a throwback to the 60s Al Williamson comic strip, big galactic space opera ala Star Wars. But knowing Taika it'll be more 80s/Ragnarok style. Which could be fun, but not necessarily what I'd want

@Origame - Did you say, "spoopy"?

@Feralwookiee - one of the greatest RLM moments and BOTW

@Dredd97 - Nothing will ever beat Rich Evan describing Neil Breen's "Double Down" for me.

@Feralwookiee - Max Landis ruins that for me. The entirety of the Star Wars Holiday Special is my favorite episode

@Dredd97 - I think it's pretty funny how he eggs the whole horrible mess on. I know he's been accused of some screwed up stuff, but never charged with anything as far as I know, but that doesn't change that I laughed.

I get all excited when I read Star Wars news then I saw the word “LEGO” and all excitement left me. I get LEGO’s are an easy way to animate but I get more excited for stick figure fighting than Lego stories…

@slickrickdesigns - same. I'm instantly losing interest when I see any Lego Star Wars thing in the Star Wars tab on D+. They should just group them together in their own segment (like Darth Vader Collection or Ahsoka Tano Essential Episodes)

It's going to be a 1:8 scale of Lukes's severed hand, still holding on to his lightsaber, priced at $350.

@Mykull - THAT'S how yellow Yoda got the lightsaber!
Truly, a story for another time.

The three tales part sound pretty interesting, but why exactly does the castle need to be transformed into a luxury hotel exactly?
