Anyone know why it says Plasma Blade under Finn and just above Kylo Ren, almost as they're referring to Ren's Lightsaber as a Plasma Blade. I don't recall Stormtroopers carrying plasma blades.

Yeah there's a line that leads to Ren's saber calling it a Plasma Blade...better not be just an ad fail.

@AlexanderLykins You're thinkin Ren isn't using an actual Lightsaber?

Technically- all Lightsaber blades are Plasma. So it's not really wrong. ;)

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lightsaber

"The weapon consisted of a blade of pure plasma emitted from the hilt and suspended in a force containment field. The field contained the immense heat of the plasma, protecting the wielder, and allowed the blade to keep its shape."

@LordCanterbury Fair enough thanks for the link, although they still call the other one Skywalker's Lightsaber so odd that they would change it on the same promo art.

They are merely pointing at the blade part of the lightsaber on Ren's photo. In the same vein as if they pointed at the Activator Switch on the handle. You wouldn't assume that they were calling the entire thing an Activator Switch.

@continuezero - there is definitely something up with Kylo's Lightsaber. The blade is obviously not stable. Some have theorized that the side blades are not tactical - but are actually exhaust ports so the Hilt won't blow. If you Google it - you can find pics of the actual prop - it has wires on the outside for cryin' out loud. Definitely appears Ren does not know how to properly build one and it's a real hack job - which I believe is a big part of the reason he is trying to find the one Luke lost in Empire Strikes Back.

The other big part being he is obsessed with Darth Vader and that was originally Anakin's saber as a Jedi.

(I don't believe the ridiculous rumor that the lost saber is the "key to an ancient Sith Tomb". Anakin built it as a Jedi with no knowledge of the Sith other than their existence. How would he have built it to be a Key to the Tomb?)

So if Rey's Staff is indeed Darth Plagueis' Staff then the laser blade has to be Red right?? Or maybe it's blue, green or Purple

Well, I was there for the original Star Wars in '76.
Since then we've had a TON of sci-fi and fantasy from Blade Runner, Batman, Tron, and the various Marvel blockbusters. Damn, I just cannot get excited about Star Wars anymore. Looking forward to Civil War and Dr. Strange next year, but more chasing, blasters, rebels and crap, sorry- been there, done that, over and over again. Mostly in 3 so-so prequels.
Hope I'm proven wrong, I really am. I'd like to get excited again by something new. But, damn, I just don't think this is it.

I love that Star Wars has a more accurate looking Dr. Doom than Fox ever did without even trying

@JediPhilosopher

"I'm calling it: Rey Skywalker, daughter of Luke and ???"

Maybe Leia,you know as good as me what it was like between those two in the original trilogy.
