Major STAR WARS Movie Announcements/Updates Expected At Celebration London In April

Star Wars Celebration London is set to take place this April, and a new report indicates that we'll finally get some solid updates on Lucasfilm's plans for the Galaxy Far, Far Away on the big screen.

The final film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, received negative reviews and was generally viewed as a disappointing conclusion to the Skywalker saga. It also failed to make as much of an impact on the box office as its predecessors.

As a result, Disney/Lucasfilm shifted focus to streaming and explored a different corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away in the likes of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor (with more on the way).

The shows have been a huge success (for the most part), but fans have been wondering when they can expect to see Star Wars back on the big screen.

Now, we finally have an update thanks to a new report from THR.

According to the trade, Disney has "ramped up its efforts" to bring the franchise back to theaters, and is expected to unveil film plans at Star Wars Celebration London this April.

We know movies from Damon Lindelof and Taika Waititi are currently being developed, so we'll most likely find out more about those projects, but we wouldn't be surprised if an entire slate (or at least a handful of films) are announced. Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins' shelved Rogue Squadron movie "may never materialize," however.

We have heard that Lindelof's film might reintroduce the sequel trilogy's main characters (Rey, Finn, Poe, etc) for some kind of follow-up story, though that's yet to be confirmed.

Feels odd to not have had a star wars movie since 2019. Guess it falls in the same category as Superman as a cinematic property that has been mismanaged.

1.) Tales of the Jedi (the real one not the Disney+ Stuff)
- Adaption and Expansion of the Sith Lords of Korriban (specifically Naga Sadow) although that would be more like Sopranos Meets Game of Thrones in Star Wars … which might be better left for a TV Series.

2.) Guillermo Del Torro’s Jabba The Hutt/Crime Syndicate Operatic Saga

@IronGenesis - ''Sopranos Meets Game of Thrones in Star Wars''

Make that a tv show and you have gold on your hands. Although I think it's near impossible to find a writer or showrunner to pull that off
