M:I5's Christopher McQuarrie Reportedly Polishing STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE Script

We're all waiting for that third trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens with bated breath, but there's also another movie in development set in a galaxy far, far away. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theatres next year, under the watchful eye of Monsters & Godzilla director Gareth Edwards. The movie (which stars Felicity Jones & Diego Luna) is a prequel/spin-off of sorts, and follows the group of Rebels who stole the plans for the original Death Star (as seen in A New Hope).
Gary Whitta originally looked set to write the Anthology film, but he dropped out and was replaced by Cinderella scribe Chris Weitz. However, according to Latino Review, Edge Of Tomorrow writer & Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie has come on board the spin-off with some last minute script polishes. If the report is true, it's unclear how big of an impact he'll have on the script - and it remains to be seen if he's given a screenplay credit or something smaller. McQuarrie's a sound choice though, given his recent record in the action genre.
Given that filming is believed to have begun in early August, it's unlikely he's overhauled the whole script. If anything, he's most likely doing some 'fine-tuning' at the most. Are you a fan of this choice? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below!
