Star Wars' official Youtube account has just released a new featurette titled, "The Sound of a Galaxy: Inside the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Soundtrack". In this new video, legendary composer John Williams spoke on his work for The Force Awakens, while giving us a behind the scenes look at the making of his music.

One of the tracks he composed was titled, "Rey's Theme"; John Williams spoke on that, and revealed what he thought that piece of music stood for. "Rey, her theme has a musical grammar that is not heroic. It’s kind of an adventure theme that maybe promises more than resolving itself in the most major, triumphant resolutions. Rey’s theme needs to illustrate [empathy]." Along with that, he also revealed his thoughts on Kylo Ren's theme in the film. "I approached the task of Kylo Ren, really just as an extension of Darth Vader in a way. And I didn’t want to get too close to it." He then added, "It needs to be something that would hit you and [be] accessible right away."

Based on John Boyega and Daisy Ridley's reaction to John Williams music in the video above, you can see just how influentiual his music can be. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

"All we need is John Williams, and then it's done!" - John Boyega on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

very disappointing soundtrack. big reason why the star movies were awesome was the because of the soundtrack. john williams is incredible normally but he just didnt have it here.

this movie was disappointing overall and one of the reasons was because of the bland soundtrack.

Soundtrack as a whole was...Okay. Not the best from John but definitely not the worst. The way I felt about Episode 7 makes me uninterested for anything else SW tho (not because it was a bad movie but because I now know what to expect going forward).
