Bandai Hobby will be releasing a new character line of Star Wars snap-together plastic model kits featuring some of the franchise's most iconic characters. Bluefin, the leading North American distributor of toys, collectibles, and hobby merchandise from Japan, made the announcement today. Check out the pics below.

The Star Wars character model line will include classic characters such as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, as well as some of the fresher faces like Kylo Ren and BB-8. They will be able to be constructed without the use of glue, making assembly simple for all skill levels.

Certain kits, such as the Han Solo and Luke Skywalker releases, will feature a new technology that allows a digitally printed likeness of the character to be rendered onto the facial components in the kit. Each completed model is fully articulated, which means they can strike numerous iconic poses.

Bandai previously released a line of Star Wars Scale Vehicle Model kit line that featured notable crafts and space ships from the earlier classic Star Wars films as well as from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

The Bandai Hobby Star Wars Character Line includes kits in 1/12, 1/6, and 1/2 scales. The first set of characters to be released will be in the 1/12 scale and will have an MSRP range of $28.00 - $50.00.

Initial Bandai Hobby Star Wars Plastic Model Character Releases for North America will include:
  • Darth Vader
  • Boba Fett
  • Stormtrooper
  • C-3PO
  • R2-D2 & R4-D5
  • K-2SO
  • Han Solo Stormtrooper
  • Luke Skywalker Stormtrooper
  • Shoretrooper
  • Clone Trooper
  • General Grievous
  • Kylo Ren
  • BB-8

Additional character releases will be announced throughout 2018.

Pre-orders are available now from authorized Bluefin retailers, as well as some leading online outlets. The first set of kits will be released in May.
