I just got back from seeing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and I just want to say, I loved it. A few arts bothered me, but overall, the good outweighed the bad.

The Good:

This movie has a lot of very likable characters and it gives each of them time to be fleshed out and you can understand where everyone was coming from. The movie was extremely suspenseful ( especially in the Death Stars first weopons test) and it's plot moved along pretty fast while never going too fast, disputed minor hiccups.

I just want to say, the special effects are beautiful. When the Death Star is put to use its magnificent. Beautiful  destruction, like the finger  of a god pushing down on entire worlds. Swift, powerful, and awesome in its destructive might.   Makes me want to purchase a nuclear warhead.

Darth Vader was great and a Badass, as always. I really have to give the FX guys a hand on Tarkin. Great job. I really wonder what else Hollywood could do with that technology.

The Bad:

This is a minor nitpick but in the first act the movie jumps around a lot. It serves a purpose but is a bit annoying. It could have been streamlined a little.

Princess Leia was not as well done as Tarkin, which surprised me as they could have just gone the young Hank pym route with her.  She looked very plastic to me.

Also, not about the movie itself but the girl sitting behind me in the theater had the most annoying laugh ever. She laughed at every joke and each time sounded like a different Simpsons character.

The Best Scene in any Star Wars movie ever:

The end of this movie was amazing. It was truly epic. It was like a war movie. My jaw dropped at everything in the last fifteen minutes of the movie. Every character sacrificed their lives and you felt it. The last shot with Jyn and Andor on the beach was beautiful.

VERDICT: 8.5 out of 10
