Oscar Isaac Talks STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII
The cast of Star Wars: Episode VIII have pretty much confirmed that the follow-up film to J.J. Abrams Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be a darker chapter in the new trilogy, and according to Oscar Isaac, the heroes will be tested like never before.
After the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, many fans began to notice that the film was very similar to the original Star Wars: A New Hope. Now, with Rian Johnson currently directing the follow-up film, and the cast saying that Episode VIII would be a darker chapter in the latest trilogy, the idea of the new trilogy mirroring the original trilogy doesn't seem too far-fetched. Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) even teased the latest film's darker direction during his new interview with Rolling Stone. "In the new film, there's a lot more to do," said Isaac. "What happens now is the heroes get tested. All three of them. That means Poe Dameron, Rey, and Finn all have considerable adventures ahead of them in this film. [They] get tested immensely."
But you can't have Poe Dameron without his orange little friend, BB-8. When asked whether Poe's trusted partner would be tested like the rest of the heroes, Isaac replied: "BB-8's doing all right. BB-8 gets tested too! Everybody gets tested! It's the dark second chapter, but not really dark." Could Isaac be referring to the force testing the heroes? Right now all we can do is speculate, and we don't have to wait too long for a Star Wars fix with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on its way.
