ROLL CREDITS Podcast: STAR WARS Movie Ranking; BLUE BEETLE Review; Rotten Tomatoes Controversy, & More

Welcome to the fourth episode of Roll Credits, a new podcast with myself, your friendly neighbourhood @RorMachine, and fellow film-fan/critic Sean Connolly (@TheSonicScrew).

The podcast will primarily focus on film and television, but we will occasionally branch out into related media such as video games, comic books, music, and whatever else happens to be in the news, or we feel like rambling on about!

We're back after a short hiatus (blame Sean, who felt the need to take a holiday - the nerve!) with a show that's sure to be on interest to Star Wars fans, as we rank all 11 big-screen adventures in the Galaxy Far, Far Away from worst to best.

Also in this episode, we chat about some of the biggest stories of the past week or so, including the much-discussed controversy surrounding Rotten Tomatoes (one production company allegedly paid some critics to positively review 2018's Ophelia), how Disney+'s latest Star Wars show, Ahsoka, has been progressing as it approaches its first season finale, and more.

We also have a couple of reviews, as Sean gives his take on Blue Beetle (which I still haven't seen), and I discuss recent R-rated talking animals comedy, Strays.

Finally, since we didn't have any brand-new comic book movies to discuss, we have our extensive Star Wars film ranking. Will our lists turn out pretty much the same, as they did when we ranked the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies last time? Spoiler alert: Nope!

Have a listen in the player below (even if it's just to make fun or our accents), and any likes, subscribes, follows, shares, or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, please feel free to share your own Star Wars rankings with us in the comments section.

"The original 1977 Star Wars film, retroactively subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope, was followed by the sequels Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983), forming the original Star Wars trilogy. Lucas later returned to the series to direct a prequel trilogy, consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). In 2012, George Lucas sold his production company to Disney, relinquishing his ownership of the franchise. This led to a sequel trilogy, consisting of Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015), Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017), and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

All nine films, collectively referred to as the "Skywalker Saga", were nominated for Academy Awards, with wins going to the first two releases. Together with the theatrical live action "anthology" films Rogue One (2016) and Solo (2018), the combined box office revenue of the films equated to over US$10 billion, making Star Wars the third-highest-grossing film franchise of all time."

@MarkCassidy -

Sorry dude. You have written many excellent articles over the years. You have good material in your head. I am sure with practice you will learn to translate it into this medium. I recommend you drink a lot more. That usually helps.
