RUMOR: Alden Ehrenreich Has Signed A Three Picture Deal To Appear As HAN SOLO; A Trilogy In The Works?

It was made official at the Star Wars Celebration that Alden Ehrenreich (“Hail, Caesar!”) would play the young Han Solo in Disney’s upcoming spinoff film. According to a new report by the NY Daily News, the 2018 movie won’t be the last time we see Ehrenreich portray the clever Smuggler. NY Daily News reports that Disney has quietly signed Ehrenreich, 26, to a three picture deal, which would certainly make sense considering the fact that most actors receive this deal if they’re a part of a big franchise. The report also says that if the first Han Solo film is a success at the box office, two more could be in the works. This information comes from an insider who says Disney has “a real sense of excitement” for the Han Solo spinoff, and that the studio feels as though the character could “become a central figure in several movies.”

So far, not much is known about the upcoming anthology film, however, we do know that it will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("The Lego Movie"), and that the screenplay was penned by Jon Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens"). If this report turns out to be true, would you be excited to see a Han Solo trilogy? Share your thoughts below!

The untitled Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film will hit theaters on May 25, 2018.

I have no problem in a Sol Trilogy...hack the more the better, gotta franchise this franchise!!!
If somebody have an issue with it, they can ignore all this, i mean, it's not like someone is forcing you, to take your ass to the theater and watch this shit or anything...

@Skwad - I agree. I'd rather have an Obi Wan or a Darth Maul solo movie.

@Darth258 - why didn't they get ewan mcgregor for a solo trilogy with maul as an antagonist?

An entire universe filled with unknown and unexplored characters and mythology and this is what you turn into a franchise???

@ComicsBornAndBred - Why bother? To them it will just sell anyways just because it has Star Wars written on it... also nostalgic fans will gobble it down easyer..

@Darth258 - I get all that but it upends anything new ever creeping into this universe.

You can't just retread the old and think that's gonna work forever.

Rinse and repeat is boring.

There is litterally a universe of possiblilities, also in the past of the galaxy, and they keep focusing on that bunch of people.

I am apart of the camp that wholeheartedly believes that HARRISON FORD IS HAN SOLO and no else can ever do what he did for that character. You can't re-capture the magic he brought to Solo and the SW universe imo. It's iconic.

When I Google Han Solo, I want to see HAN SOLO

Cool I guess, but if any character can star in a trilogy it's OBI-WAN

As I said in the last topic on this before it was taken down this isn't needed. Han Solo was a great character and you knew from his very first scene he was cool. I personally like characters having some mystery to them and sadly Disney feels differently.

I personally hope the entire trilogy is not centered around him. It sounds like they are trying to make him bigger in this universe than he already is.
IronGenesis

I do not like the sound of it.
My reasons are...

I feel the more heroic you make Solo look in these Prequels...it lessens the impact of his meeting Luke and decision to Fight at the end of ANH.

Unless I am wrong...unless the surprise the Falcon comes to the rescue was supposed to be very obvious upon a first viewing.

Same issue I have with Rogue One...if these Rebels low through the empire than why even need Luke?

But in the flip side...very excited to watch these all!
