With middling reviews leading to a lackluster box office performance, perhaps many fans are simply waiting for
Solo: A Star Wars Story's home video release to see the spinoff story that nobody really asked for. Even though the film is still in theaters, retailers Best Buy and Target have already posted listings for their exclusive
Solo: A Star Wars Story Blu-ray offerings.
Best Buy's 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray listing includes an exclusive limited-edition collectible steelbook featuring some impressive artwork of the Millennium Falcon. Check out the art below:
Meanwhile, Target has multiple blu-ray listings, including
an exclusive that includes a collectible Millennium Falcon figure. Based on the listings, it appears this figure will not only be exclusive to Target, but you must be a Redcard member as well. The listings with the figure appear to cost around $10 more than the listings without. Size specifications for the figure are not listed, but it appears to be a miniature. It's also not specified if the accompanying artwork for the blu-ray is finalized or not.
Unfortunately, no release date for
Solo: A Star Wars Story on Blu-ray was included in any of the listings by either retailer. There was also no additional information about exclusive special features or bonus footage that may be on the Blu-ray. Given the complicated production process that
Solo went through, which included a change in directors, many fans are curious if the home video release will feature any footage from original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently playing in theaters, but underperforming analyst expectations. According to Box Office Mojo, the controversial spinoff is around a $276 million worldwide total.
