Naboo, a peaceful planet governed by the young, elusive, but wise Queen Amidala (Portman), is being threatened by the corrupt Trade Federation, puppets of an evil Sith lord and his terrifying apprentice, Darth Maul (Park). The seemingly benevolent Senator Palpatine (McDiarmid) is chief advisor to the queen, though there are suspicions surrounding him. Jedi knights Qui-Gon Jinn (Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (McGregor) are called on to intervene in the trade disputes. Along the way, they acquire an apprentice of their own in the form of young prodigal Anakin Skywalker (Lloyd). They also encounter Jar Jar Binks (Best), a goofy, lizardlike creature who has been banished from his underwater world for his clumsiness. When the Trade Federation launches an attack on Naboo, the queen and her allies must battle hordes of robot troopers while Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan face off against the sinister Darth Maul.

Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace stars Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Jake Lloyd, Ian McDiarmid, Pernilla August, Oliver Ford Davies, Hugh Quarshie, Ahmed Best, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Frank Oz, Terence Stamp, Brian Blessed, Andrew Secombe, Ray Park, and will be re released in 3d on February 10, 2012.

The real STAR WARS is in the commercial. Does that mean Hope, Empire and Jedi have 3D releases?

I will be seeing this, yes I will! [frick] you all and be grateful for what George Lucas has done for us! He deserves to be bathed in money >:P lol

Oh and wasn't The Amazing Spider-Man suppose to have a Super Bowl tv spot?

@NeoBaggins- The Complete Saga will be coming to theaters in 3D, just don't know if they'll be released every 3 months or yearly. I don't be want to be waiting for the original trilogy forever :/

No way I'm paying to see this.

@ Dmm5 - the problem with these 3D releases of Star Wars, is that they are the Blu Ray versions, so in 6 years time when Jedi come out, get ready to see Vader scream NOOOOooooooooooonoOOOooo in glorious 3D

@GrayFox1025- Well that sucks.... I have to wait 6 years! lol ;P

Saw the trailer in 3D when I went to see Chronicle, the 3D was bloody awful, flat elements just separated like typical converted 3D shit. Anyone paying to see this again is an imbecile!

Jesus effin' Christ! Every article it's the same jackasses spouting the same negative garbage. Over and over and over in a desperate cry for serious psychiatric attention. Basically, 'if you don't agree that my OPINIONS are the correct ones, you're an idiot'. Yeah, we know - you hate pretty much EVERYTHING. We get it already. Isn't it about time for you kids to grow the hell up?

Honestly, my only complaint with this is the same thing with the original trailer for episode 1. They should not have shown Darth Mauls double sided lightsaber in the trailer. If it had been left until the actual movie it would have been a lot more intense when he does finally use both blades.

The money spent to advertise this garbage during the Super Bowl could have easily paid for a proper remastering of the original episodes IV-VI...

@WittySupername - For some of them it seems to go even deeper than that. It's almost like an evangelical calling to spread the hate. Childishly trying to browbeat everyone into accepting their opinions as facts. And that's just sad. Pathetic.

I for one AM looking forward to this, and the next five. I'm also not a big fan of the 3D craze, but it's a chance to see my favorite movie series on the big screen again. That's something I'll jump at.

@Intruder - We don't have to 'look forward to' that. We already have it. Look up at several of the comments already posted here. The ones by the same douche nozzles who lower the quality of every one of these articles with their uncompromising negativity. Because that is the absolute perfect illustration of the negativity that permeates this place. Unblinking, unthinking, unquestioning adherence to an unreasoning, infantile hatred, blended together with an adamant refusal to grow the eff up and get the eff over it already! The same idiotic garbage, over and over and over and over and over again. The real fans can't even have a decent discussion about this stuff, because within seconds of one of these articles being posted, at least one of the same gang of retarded assclowns has already been here, defiling the comments section with the same tired old horseshit that wasn't clever the first time some dill-hole uttered it thirteen years ago.

@Yossarian - "Anyone paying to see this again is an imbecile!" Not my words, "friend." Apparently I'm NOT the only one name-calling, am I?

@theangrytroll But that's just it; you don't have a point. Unless you think THIS is a point:

"I for one AM looking forward to this, and the next five. I'm also not a big fan of the 3D craze, but it's a chance to see my favorite movie series on the big screen again. That's something I'll jump at."

Translation: I don't even like 3D but I like these films enough to suffer through it. I hate people talking about how they don't like it because I love it. They are big, dumb, stupit, doodoo heads. And I'm pretentious with my rebel avatar crossing out a popular director.

*rolls eyes*

@SaintSpidey67Re I thought the 3D was the whole point. Can't see George letting people slip by on 2-D ticket prices. Sounds dangerous.

MAN! I CAN'T WAIT OT SEE THIS!

What happens in it ? It looks soooo cooolll! 3-D!!! WOW!

Thank you George! The same damn material that's been around for YEARS! But NOW IN 3-D!

Grape juice is poured in a 'red solo cup'(Toby Kieth FTW!)

Then another serving is poured in a regular kitchen glass , and I'm SUPPOSE to think is gonna be better!

Same juice, different glass. Get it!
