It's been a while since we've had a good Star Wars Episode IX rumour and while this latest effort should definitely be taken with a pinch of salt, it's very interesting indeed. Apparently, we should expect a major plot twist involving Domnhall Gleeson's General Hux as we'll learn that he's actually a traitor within The First Order. Right now, you're thinking that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, right?

Well, it's said that Hux doesn't believe Kylo Ren is a fitting leader for the villainous group and that he deems him of not being worthy of becoming Supreme Leader in Snoke's absence. This lines up with what we saw in The Last Jedi as he started drawing his blaster to kill Ren before the powerful nephew of Luke Skywalker woke up. As a result, he believes that helping the Resistance take down Ren will open the door to him being able to take charge of The First order and regain order within the Galaxy.

Given the source, this should obviously be treated as a rumor, but bear in mind that it was The Sun that broke the news about Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the role of Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home! With that in mind, there's a chance this report could be accurate but we'll have to wait and see.

Do you think Hux will betray The First Order to take down Kylo Ren? Share your theories down below.
