The highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel was revealed at Star Wars Celebration last weekend, and after that cryptic, intriguing teaser, there's a lot of excitement to see where Cal Kestis' story goes next.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor certainly looks like a fun experience, anyway, and a new rumour shared by Shepshal Nick, host of the podcast, Xbox Era (via SFFGazette.com), suggests Cal will come face to face with a Star Wars icon. Apparently, there are plans for Darth Maul to make an appearance in the sequel, and while the source isn't the most reliable, this does line up with other rumblings we've heard.
At this point in the timeline, Maul is either continuing to increase his power in the Galaxy's criminal underworld or on the hunt for Obi-Wan Kenobi (a story we saw play out in Star Wars Rebels). He'd make a fitting foe for Cal, though Lucasfilm will need to be careful not to contradict his other appearances.
What we can say is that the mysterious villain seen in the sequel's trailer isn't Maul. There's been a lot of speculation about that, with various Expanded Universe and Knights of the Old Republic characters mentioned as potential candidates (most fans appear to be hoping for Starkiller's return).
Hopefully, some more official details will be revealed soon.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to be released in 2023, with the latest rumours pointing to a February or March release.
