As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, Marvel Comics has confirmed plans for another Star Wars: Revelations one-shot issue that promises to offer us a startling glimpse at what's to come in next year's Star Wars comics.

Back with more surprises than ever this December, it comes after last year's effort - also titled Star Wars: Revelations - prepared fans for a dramatic year of Star Wars sagas, including a story which laid the groundwork for the current crossover event, Star Wars: Dark Droids.

We're hearing that this year will be no different thanks to a giant-sized instalment that's going to include the first appearances of major players and new twists and turns across Marvel's entire Star Wars line.

The stories told will be crafted by an army of current and upcoming Star Wars talent including writers Marc Guggenheim (Star Wars: Dark Droids - D-Squad), Charles Soule (Star Wars, Star Wars: Dark Droids, Star Wars: The High Republic - Shadows of Starlight), Greg Pak (Star Wars: Darth Vader), Alyssa Wong (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra), Ethan Sacks (Star Wars: Bounty Hunters), Cavan Scott (Star Wars: The High Republic Phase III), and Marc Bernardin.

The star-studded issue will impact the titles currently exploring the era between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as well as Marvel's upcoming Star Wars: High Republic Phase III titles. In addition, the one-shot will lay the groundwork for a number of exciting all-new comic titles that have yet to be announced.

Phil Noto's cover teases a host of upcoming appearances including Mace Windu, Jabba the Hutt, and Grand Admiral Thrawn, while we'll also find out what's on the horizon for Darth Vader, the heroes of the Rebellion, the Jedi Knights of the High Republic, and more.

Thrawn's presence is particularly exciting as he's currently taking centre stage in Ahsoka on Disney+. He wasn't in the main Star Wars Galaxy during the events of Empire and Jedi, so we're curious when and where this story takes place...and whether it will flesh out the story we're currently seeing play out on screen.

As for the rest of the characters teased here, it's always fun spending time with the likes of Darth Vader and Mace Windu, and we're definitely intrigued by what these (mostly canon) stories have in store for them.

Keep checking SFFGazette.com for the latest Star Wars: Revelations updates as we have them.

“Future plans” is such a funny phrase to use here. “Man, I wonder where they would be taking Vader from here”

@dragon316 - while the expanded universe had some very bad stories they at least branched away from the Sith, Dark Jedi’s and storm troopers being the main antagonists

@Arthorious - “Legends” is the real expanded universe. Everything made under Disney isn’t even ‘fan fiction.’ Because fan fiction cares. Disney’s star wars is corporate product and nothing more. Vader & stormtrooper ripoffs vs jedi & rebellion ripoffs is all they release because they think it’s what sold.

@MG0019 - agreed, they actually put in a way better attempt than what Disney has done. They did a great job with a lot of the characters and introduced some really great characters like Dash, Jacen, and much more.
