The first trailer for Star Wars: Starfighter debuted at D23 on Friday night, but it didn't receive an official release, and any leaks have since been scrubbed from social media platforms like X and Instagram.

In terms of when it could race online, we wouldn't expect anything until much closer to the end of this year based on how The Mandalorian and Grogu was marketed. Ultimately, time will tell, but the leaked version was enough to get most Star Wars fans very excited.

As we first reported on SFFGazette.com@MakingStarWars has a detailed breakdown of a brutal Star Wars: Starfighter fight scene involving Ryan Gosling's Kade Auberon. The outlet previously revealed the name of the Barbie star's character in advance and revealed that Gosling's wife, Ghost Rider star Eva Mendes, makes her acting return in the movie to play Belle.

She's also front and centre in this sequence, which once again confirms reports that Flynn Gray's character is a young Force user. With Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy at the helm, you likely won't be surprised to learn that the action is accompanied by quite a bit of humour.

In Star Wars: Starfighter, when a cynical rogue is confronted by his mysterious past, he is hurled into a dangerous adventure across the galaxy that puts him on a crash course with destiny.

Ryan Gosling leads the cast, which also includes Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, Flynn Gray, and Amy Adams.

Star Wars: Starfighter is written by Jonathan Tropper, produced by Shawn Levy and Kathleen Kennedy, with Ryan Gosling, Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen, and Josh McLaglen serving as executive producers.

Directed by Shawn Levy, the movie arrives in theaters on May 28, 2027. The official Star Wars social media accounts have also shared a fan poster for Star Wars: Starfighter, which features a symbol that Lucasfilm has previously said is "an important symbol from the movie."

I love gosling to death but that scene sounds so [frick]ing tired man.
Can we please go back to actual Jedi mythology and lore please? Super done with smugglers, resistance fighters and wing pilots

It is a crying shame what Disney has done to Star Wars. Even in the weak prequel era the story was meticulous and layered with depth and had fidelity to the source.

By contrast you add up the stories of Mando, Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi, Acolyte, Skeleton Crew, Ahsoka and it’s just one giant whatever. It’s really not added up to anything special. In fact it’s pretty dang generic and just kinda wandering forever in a meaningless void of throwing crap at the screen and hoping something sticks.

Andor is an exception but it’s overwhelmed by everything else that it really can’t change the course of this sunken ship unfortunately

Even in the midst of the last horrible trilogy and somehow even worse Solo, we got the the excellent Rogue One.

We just have to hope this movie is a diamond in the current SW sh!tpile.

@DocSpock - yes that’s true. It’s hard to not be totally negative about Star Wars future.

@Lucasberg -

When they handed the last trilogy to Abrams, SW was doomed. It may take another decade to recover.

That sounds like a fun sequence and a role that is pretty much made for Ryan Gosling imo as this guy who is flying by the seat of his pants and in over his head but fun & charming enough that we root for him…

Anyway , cool jacket & fan art imo.

Ultimately , I have a feeling that the movie will be solid tbh but fingers crossed!!.
