UPDATE: STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Sinks TITANIC At The UK Box Office

Get used to these updates, because Star Wars: The Force Awakens is showing no signs on slowing down on its path to ultimate box office dominance. The film's latest achievement is surpassing Titanic to become the 4th highest grossing picture of all time in the UK...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has taken in £83.5M ($123.8M) in the UK after 13 days of release, making it the 4th highest-grossing movie in the territory's history. Of course that means it's knocked the previous 4th-place holder off its spot, and that movie just so happens to be James Cameron's mighty Titanic.

J.J. Abrams' return to the galaxy far, far away has also made over £8.2M ($12.16M) in IMAX sales, beating Spectre‘s previous UK record.

Can The Force Awakens really wind up beating Avatar to become the top grossing movie of all time globally? If it continues on its current upward trajectory you'd have to think it has a good chance, but as of right now it stands in 9th position.

UPDATE: Make that 8th position! The Force Awakens notched up another $36.7M on Wednesday, driving it past Disney’s own Frozen to become the No. 8 movie of all time at the worldwide box office.

Meanwhile, TFA is making 1.5 million i its first week release in India. Guess it's not a thing in India. And as if Disney cares. But MCU is hugely popular in India.

I hate being reminded that Avatar stole 2.7 billion from audiences everyday.

@bs77

That is how I feel about this movie as well.......but I would rather have this movie break all the records instead of Avatar.

LOL!

Man, George Lucas is lobbing bombs at Disney!

“I sold them to the white slavers that takes these things, and…,” Lucas said before laughing and deciding it better not to finish.

Saw it. It's alright but it suffers from the same problem Specter had. Too much "requel", not enough actual new movie.

That said, I'm somewhat vindicated to see that Superman Returns' formula works now...

And March of the Resistance is the best theme of the Soundtrack!
That moment when the X-wings fighters make their entrance was absolutely epic and heroic!!!

@mego but just think if the rest of the world wasn't so stupid , you edgy brilliance wouldn't stand out as exceptional. You are truly gifted, if you know what I mean 😉

And in other news Disney is killing it!
