Robert Pattinson (
Twilight, High Life, Harry Potter) is reportedly in line for a role in Christopher Nolan's next film, which is still very much shrouded in mystery.
We
found out last night that
BlacKkKlansman actor John David Washington had signed on to star in the film, and it's believed that Pattinson will be the co-lead. Apparently, "there will also be an age-appropriate female lead, as well as an older male co-star."
All that's currently known about the project is that it'll be "a massive, innovative, action blockbuster, which will again be shown in IMAX." That still doesn't give us a whole lot to go, of course, but it does sound like Nolan might be working on something closer to
Inception than, say,
Interstellar or
Dunkirk. In fact,
Collider's report actually mentions the possibility of it being "a sequel of sorts" to I
nception - although it sounds like that may just be pure speculation.
At any rate, with the script now complete, we should begin to find out more very soon. The untitled Christopher Nolan "event film" is set for release on July 18, 2020.
UPDATE: Variety is now reporting that Elizabeth Debicki (
GOTG Vol.2, Widows) has also joined the project. She'll play the female lead, but, like her co-stars, no information on her character has been provided.
