Earlier this year, it was reported that Tom Cruise is adding yet another sci-fi thriller to his resume with Warner Bros.' big screen adaptation of the Japanese novel Yukikaze. The actor recently starred in Universal's Oblivion, and will be seen in WB's Edge Of Tomorrow next year. According to Variety, screenwriter Dan Mazeau (who previously worked on Wrath Of The Titans, as well as unproduced screenplays for The Flash and Jonny Quest for the studio) has been hired to adapt Yukikaze. The story "originates with a hyper-dimensional passageway appearing over Antarctica, allowing fighters from an alien force to attempt a terrestrial invasion — resulting in a united humanity fending off the attack." The novel has since spawned multiple anime and manga series. Viz Media's Jason Hoffs and 3 Arts' Erwin Stoff and Tom Lassally are on board as producers, with Jon Berg overseeing the project. Are you looking forward to the Yukikaze movie?
