I can't explain it, but I have a bad feeling about this film. It will either underperform or won't be good. It's also pretty obvious that Riz Ahmed dies by bombing an imperial shuttle.

@Kr08 - I have a similar feeling. I feel like it may end up being a bit subpar. Expectations are high. Idk what it is, but I think, not only may it under-perform MAYBE, but it may bot be the great movie we're expecting and it may just end up being okay to solid.

I'm excited for it, but a bit hesitant it terms of if it will be good.

@ComicsBornAndBred - I would blame it on the reshoots, but I felt it even before that. There's almost no hype surrounding this film, which is weird as hell for a Star Wars movie, and they've done a meh job with the trailers.

I'm watching it for sure. I just don't know if I'll enjoy it as much as I want to.

I feel like this may not be good. I'm excited to see it, but I've got a weird feeling about this. I've NEVER been sold on Gareth Edwards as the director. There were better choices.

If you wanted an up and coming director to helm this you could've grabbed Alex Garland of Ex Machina fame.

@ComicsBornAndBred - Man Garland would've made a dark as hell Rogue One that I now want lol. Ex Machina reminds me that Oscar Isaac is an incredible actor and pretty much wasted in TFA. He and Domhnall Gleeson deserve a lot more screen time. I loved how Gleeson channeled Hitler for Hux. That shit felt too real, which was terrifiying.

@Kr08 - Garland's Rogue One would've been CEREBRAL as hell as just really dark. I'd equate his kind of war film to something like Come and See form 1985. An underrated war film.

He'd make a SW war film where the concept of hope could maybe be upended by the reality of war. He'd challenge the audiences ability to accept a film that leaves them with no hope. Even in victory, hope isnt as strong as we think it to be.

Basically they'd NEVER let him make it haha.

@Kr08 - Ex-Machina, with Oscar as the lead was a fantastic Sci-fi flick... and agreed, he was wasted in TFA, hope he has a more significant role in episode VIII

I think this looks fantastic, love everything I've seen about it. But I'm not a star wars fan so that may be why. I LOVED force awakens despite the pretty big flaw that it was very predictable and a copy of the original movie in most plot beats, but I never liked the original movies. And the prequels were awful except for Liam Neeson and Darth Maul (and those cool lightsaber fights). But force awakens was great and this looks just as good. I'm hanging to see what happens with Rey though, man! She is a grouse character.
