We know Sony is planning Venom and Silver & Black movies, but it now looks like we might be able to add Nightwatch to the list of Spidey spin-offs that are currently in the works.
According to Jeff Sneider of Meet The Movie Press, the studio is developing a movie based on the exploits of Doctor Kevin Trench, a.k.a. Nightwatch, who was first introduced in Web of Spider-Man #97 in the '90s. Nightwatch's original costume was very similar to Spawn's which led to many dismissing him as a cheap rip-off, but he's actually a pretty cool character.
Apparently, Now You See Me Screenwriter Ed Ricourt is already working on a script, and Sony is hoping to get none other than Spike Lee on board to helm the picture.
Sneider says he's “very confident” in this report, but we'll obviously have to treat it as a rumor for now.
Would you guys have any interest in a Nightwatch movie? Sound off in the usual place.
