GHOST RIDER Star Nicolas Cage May Have Landed A Key Role In SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE

We know that Nicolas Cage is a huge fan of comic books and now a new report claims that the actor may have landed a key role in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse as an alternate reality Peter Parker...

Nicolas Cage very nearly played Superman in a Tim Burton-helmed live-action movie and while he's since appeared in Ghost Rider and Kick-Ass, an argument could be made that he's yet to land a truly great superhero role (Big Daddy comes pretty close). Well, that could be about to change thanks to Sony's upcoming animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as he may have a role there.

According to a new report, Cage may have been cast as Spider-Man Noir in the highly anticipated Marvel Comics adaptation, a role which would definitely suit the actor. The character is one of the most popular alternate versions of Spidey, so it makes perfect sense for him to appear here, especially as we know that Into the Spider-Verse is going to feature a lot of different versions of the wall-crawler.

The latest trailer promised that more reveals are coming our way at Comic-Con so those will be well worth keeping an eye out for. Actors who are confirmed to appear as various versions of the iconic superhero include Shamiek Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, and Jake Johnson as Peter Parker. Wake me up when they make a Spider-Man movie worth watching. None movie captured the spirit and essence of the character in nearly a decade now. Judging from the trailer, this one will be no different.
"Oh, but it has Miles and Spider-Gwen and Noir from da comics in it."
Yeah, but the comics have become shitty toy comercials since One More Day.

Could Nicolas Cage pull off J. Jonah Jameson? I think his craziness would fit well with the character.

Also, as an aside, I caught this great video the other day on Kick-Ass and realized that no one seems to praise it anymore as it deserves (and Nicolas Cage IS amazing in it, there's no "maybe" in there):

@thejon93rd - And here I am realizing that he's been cast as Spider-Man Noir in "Into The Spider-Verse" (which I mistook for "Far From Home"). So many Spider-Man related movies coming within the next year and then some. Just wild.

If Nic Cage was ever going to play Spidey, that'd be the version he'd suit best. Never thought I'd start a sentence with "if Nic Cage was ever going to play Spidey" and be serious about it 😂

Spiderman Noir and Spiderman 2099 would have been great live action projects for Sony but instead they are doing Venom, Moebius and other crap.

Not bad, I could def see his voice as an older Spider-Man Noir. It'll be a cool suit to see on the big screen.

I really hope we get to see this guy in the film:
