SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Spoilers - Find Out Which (If Any) Characters Make Live-Action Cameos

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now in theaters, and we're taking a look at the biggest moments and surprises from Sony Pictures' critically-acclaimed animated sequel.

Rumors have been swirling for a while now that the Into the Spider-Verse follow-up may feature some notable live-action cameos, and it most definitely does - but they may not be the characters you expected to see!

Major spoilers from this point on!

The first cameo, which was already spoiled in a recent TV spot, features Venom's Mrs. Chen (Peggy Lu), who shows up when the Spot inadvertently uses his abilities to jump into Eddie Brock's universe. It's a fun moment, but there's no sign of Eddie or the Psychotic Symbiote, unfortunately.

Then, later on in the movie when Miles Morales meets Miguel O'Hara and his Spider-Society, we see a live-action Variant of Miles' uncle Aaron, aka the Prowler, played by none other than Donald Glover! As you'll no doubt recall, the Atlanta star appeared as this character in Spider-Man: Homecoming for a brief scene with Tom Holland's wall-crawler.

Speaking of Holland's Spidey, he doesn't make an appearance despite persistent rumors to the contrary - but, we do get quick glimpses of his fellow big-screen Peter Parkers.

There's no new footage, but when O'Hara is showing Miles the people that every other Spider-Man lost, we see Andrew Garfield with Captain George Stacy after he was killed by the Lizard in TASM, and Tobey Maguire with Uncle Ben from Sam Raimi's first film.

Glover's appearance aside, these "cameos" are a tad underwhelming, but there's always a chance Holland, Garfield and/or Maguire have filmed new scenes for next year's Beyond the Spider-Verse.

The review embargo lifted yesterday (you can check out our verdict here), and the movie currently sits at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The confirmed voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Brian Tyree Henry.
