UPDATED OPINION on SPIDER-MAN 3D (or possible, hopefully The AMAZING SPIDER-MAN)

Now that the set pictures are out, I wanted to do a small update for the new Spider-Man Film. 1sts a private choice, I will go see it, out of respect for the character, I’m a Spider-Man fan, and my brother and I saw the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man Film 6 times in theaters. So I’d feel like I’d have betrayed the character if not seeing it. Second, I’m still not excited about 27 Year Old Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, he looks like Adult Spider-Man to me, my opinion on that is firm, but I’m willing to suspend my beliefs for the duration of 2-hours. Mainly the reason why I was ever mad was because simply it feels too soon, Spider-Man 3 came out a short while ago and Raimi had made Sony nearly 2 billion dollars on his films and I feel he should be given a certain amount of respect for that at least.

I’d be in support had it be done 10 years after 3 (or at least 7), with no possibility of Spider-Man 4 ever existing. Sony has made smart decisions though, using Gwen as the main love interest, including Parker’s Parents. But it has bad ones as well, Mainly no build up to the lizard (the first trilogy had been a bit better had Lizard replaced Sandman in 3 and I really can’t see Lizard as the type international, take over the world threat I feel is needed, but it does serve a purpose for emotional growth) Re-using high school, now I’m 18 and I’m in high school, I’m more likely to watch that on T.V. then want to see it in a movie when I pay 8.00 for the ticket, high school doesn’t interest me.

My opinions are still against the overall idea, but it can win me over, mainly things are worrying me. The rumor of the “High Tech Design” really makes me wonder how Iron Spider-esq it looks. Personally the mental image that pops into my head is a monstrous mixture of Iron Spider, Ultimate Spider, and 2099 Spider. The idea is kind of nauseating so the suit is a very big worry.

Although I'll be OK and not to ashamed at Sony if the High Tech Design looks like this:

Now about the actor himself, I don’t like the hair, it’s too long and isn’t very Parker-esq, and his hair isn’t naturally pointed out like Edward Cullen’s, it’s usually stacked up like a friggin’ Saiyan. But it doesn’t bug me much (get it? Spider-Man, Bug? Eh forget it.) The bigger thing that bugs me, is the purpose they’re making it.

Sony is masking it as a Spider-Man Film Comic Book Nerds always wanted, but the actual style of it is closer to the idea of attracting “Twilight Money” Point A.) The actor is basically new Edward, British with hair that can actually protect said actor from brain damage in motorcycle wrecks, B.) Gwen in the comics was a shy, hard studying ‘good girl’ figure, the same Twi-twits claim Bella as. C.) Parker’s wardrobe, now this is where I get into the whole glasses thing, Parker should wear glasses with fake lenses to make it look like nothing has changed, a.k.a a disguise, the difference in this story is Parker is the hot shit at the school, but will be portrayed to Gwen as Hot and Misunderstood.
They’re basically making Edward Parker, and that is what worries me most about the film. I understand to a lot of girls in between the ages of 12-40, and I’ll admit I read the first two books for my girlfriend (they’re terrible) so I understand the whole make money by imitation.

Spider-Man never really attracted many female audience members, and since a lot of them are trapped in this twi-moron celibate Mormon fantasy. So they’re basically trying to add on as much of that onto a Spider-Man film, while cloaking it to the die-hard Spider-Fans. Note, Director, not a big time guy, his only other Feature film is “500 Days of Summer” (AN A-MAZ-ING Film) Who literally did a film about relationships. Now he’s taking that skill and plastering it onto a Spider-Man Film, and using Ultimate Spider-Man as a basis for Characterization, see quote:

"Of course," Webb told MTV News when asked if he was a fan of Spider-Man. "Stan Lee, big fan ... love the 'Ultimate [Spider-Man]' stuff."

[Side-note: If it’s OK for Sony to use Ultimate Spider-Man, after they tried a “616” like Spider-Man, why isn’t it OK for Marvel to use Ultimate Nick Fury after they tried a 616 styled Nick Fury?]

Now this gives us big hints that the story is very Ultimate Esq. But enough on that, the thing I wanted to talk about was this:

We’re all aware of the [in]famous set photo revealing Andrew Garfield on set as Peter Benjamin Parker. A lot of people say things like “His Hair is too goofy” or “What’s the deal with fingerless gloves?” Personally I myself has argued the point of fingerless gloves, but the bigger point should be, It’s cold, they’re in Either L.A., NY, or Vancouver, so basically it’s cold, and yet Gwen is wearing a goddamn miniskirt! I’ve seen this hundreds of times, idiot girls and guys will wear shorts in the winter when it’s cold, and makes no sense.

Anyway, yes he needs a haircut, Mainly because if it rains (and his hair possible get’s away from its natural helmet shape, would be pretty long and weird looking), and he needs glasses as explained earlier, the glasses are for disguise, if he doesn’t want his girlfriend and friends to know he’s the same puny parker, he needs to keep something they notice about him, his glasses. Now the gloves, I just realized, this is a reboot, so the odds are he’s using mechanical web shooters, which means he needs to A.) Hide them as he might have to become Spider-Man at any minute and B.) Need’s his natural Bony Fingers to activate the web shooters as gloves are too thick and not flexible enough. So fingerless gloves, I’m sorry.

All that said, there’s a couple things that’s obvious, A) Once they release a Spider-Man Costume picture, the internet will split in half between the “I Like/Love its” and the Usual “I don’t Like/Hate its” B) Everyone will whine about there not being a Lizard Picture release, due to the fact half of you will forget they’re still filming and Ifan probably hasn’t stepped a foot onset with or without lizard make up, they’re probably going to use a combo of Cgi and Make up, so don’t expect Lizard pics any time within the next two or three months C) Hints at future Villains…

… Now here’s how I think it’ll go down, in Ultimate Spider-Man 2, Parker will get the Symbiot like he did in Ultimate Spider-Man (With Joseph Gordon Levitt possible as Venom, or just as likely lousy actor Kellen Lutz) drift away from Gwen, She’ll get Kidnapped by the Green Goblin, Green Goblin kills her in front of Spider-Man, he fights Green Goblin, decides to dump the Symbiot, or kill it with electricity. Eddie learns about this, gets Symbiot. Open Ultimate Spider-Man 3, Fight between Parker and Eddie, Eddie is believed dead, Symbiot gets into hands of Cletus Kasady we have carnage, 3 introduces Mary Jane and Parker re-falls in love. Battles Carnage with Venom’s help, end result, Venom get’s a spinoff for another 3 movies where Sony profits again, and around this time, which could be the 2020’s Comic Book Movies could end up dyeing.

Anyway, are you Not Politically Correct are You Democrat or Republican? Are you a Third Party? I’m TheGoddamnSuperman (sorry if the Joke at Frank Miller doesn’t sell as well, I mean no offense by it, just a parody) and this is my Goddamn opinion.

first it was the helmet(thor), then the wings(captain america), and now hair JEEZ. because he has hair like that gay twi fairy glowing thing dosent necessarily mean its going to be any thing like that. by the way spidey hasnt used his glasses as a disguise for a while now, has it occured to anyone that the scene there shooting may happen after he gets his power. now correct me if i am wrong but dosent he stop wearing glasses in the first movie after he gets his powers. instead of worrying about how he's dressed or what his [frick]ing hair looks like worry about the biggest [frick]ing problem THE DIRECTOR and COSTUME

p.s. alex ross costume is perfect for the movie
BobGarlen
BobGarlen - 1/6/2011, 4:34 PM
@Ibz I took the picture with that angle. I mean is no one does it, it would A.) Be something new. B.) help him look like a nerd and disguise his powers, yet i'm one of few who actually would think about that. The biggest problem is how they're approaching the story, How they're approaching the film's design, I have faith in the Director, I am worried about the costume but costumes don't usually ruin the film for people.
Ibz
Ibz - 1/6/2011, 4:52 PM
yeah but the costume is the thing that has to be different if it wants to stand out from the raimi version sorry but he dosent need a disguise he has mask for that, if the stories [frick]ing crap then dosent matter if he's wearing glasses or not the movie is going to fail. he's not superman he dosent have to wear glasses to hid his identity. peter parkers totally different when he's not in the costume. marc webbs only done one major movie, and i use the word major very loosely before. the guys primarily done music videos before that so i am not sold on the director.
BobGarlen
BobGarlen - 1/6/2011, 5:00 PM
@Ibz he doesn't need it to show he's not Spider-Man, it's to show he's still puny, and a nerd glasses help show that attitude. Heck he also needs to alter his voice, that's something i don't like about some Super Hero actors, they never change their voice so you can tell just by a person's voice who they are. I'm with Webb seeing as he knows how to move story, but no doubt the producer's are running this show. The producer's are doing it for money, and are going to be primary cause of all twilightness.
Ibz
Ibz - 1/6/2011, 5:09 PM
wearing glasses makes him puny WTF are you talking about. wearing glasses makes people look puny does it? and i do agree with one thing the producers will try pull in the twilight crowd thats for sure. even when he gets his powers he's still peter parker the lovable loser, that dosent change much
BobGarlen
BobGarlen - 1/6/2011, 5:19 PM
@Ibz No the glasses keep the look he's masked himself in high school, i wear glasses, the thing is it keeps the disguise he has. It takes one person willing to lose some time to investigate over who Spider-Man is, heck a high school student could decide to see why Parker would be acting different, like showing more confidence, and not wearing his glasses, so he digs in deeper and and discovers who he is. I just feel that glasses help disguise peter as being how everyone sees him. I'm not losing sleep over it, but it would be a nice touch.
Ibz
Ibz - 1/6/2011, 5:33 PM
dude you miss the whole point nothing changes about peter parker at all he's still the same guy, the nerd who gets picked on. but i get your point, i just found it weird that you some how connected wearing glasses to being puny

"Spider-Man can also sense and dodge attacks directed randomly or by a computer. His spider-sense has helped him preserve his secret identity since it alerts him to observers or cameras when changing into or out of his costume. The spider-sense doesn't react to those whom Peter does not consider a threat, such as Aunt May. Contrary to this, his spider-sense has warned him of people close to him when he doesn't wish to be seen, such as when he's partly in costume." so people discovering his identity is covered by his powers no need for glasses.
BobGarlen
BobGarlen - 1/6/2011, 6:12 PM
@Ibz again glasses are to fool everyone into thinking he's no different then before. His powers gave him a confidence. And even so, his spider-sense can fail, hell it could be by accident. Doesn't matter whether or not he's got the 6th sense. I still think you can fool any sense. Green Goblin gasses Spider-Man that chemically turned off his Spider Sense that allowed him to discover his identity. But it can be simple like in the first movie, the green goblin figured it out and it was by a simple clues.

I think it would be nice to put him in glasses that's how i've always imagined Peter being in public. Everyone has seen him as wearing glasses before the bite, i think it would be off for no one to suspect that he stopped magically. It's well known his aunt and uncle are as poor as possible yet he magically affords contact lenses? i would doubt it, especially if he just showed up to school one day not wearing something that identities him at the school.

Like Blitzed said, Mopey Maguire was 26 when he filmed Spider-Man. Does that one year really make all the difference? He looked older than Garfield does too. Also, Parker only wore his glasses for like 10 minutes in Spider-Man. After the bite they weren't seen again until he lost his powers in the sequel. Just because we haven't seen him wearing asses doesn't mean he won't wear them EVER in the entire film.

I really don't understand where all this Twilight shit is coming from either. We've seen one set of snapshots from one scene, but you people can somehow immediately determine the feel of the movie. We don't even know what this scene is. Maybe his hair is a mess because he just took off his mask, maybe there's some other reason for it. Just be [frick]ing patient, you bitchy nerds. Sorry if you don't agree with the reboot, but no amount of whining will make them halt production. Just reserve your [frick]ing judgement until we get a little more info on this. [frick], I'm irritated.

@TheGoddamnsuperman dude go read a spiderman comic please because raimi's movies barely ever used spideys spidersense EVER, i dont think they ever showed him use his spidey sense in number 3. his whole [frick]ing fighting style is based around his spidey sense. by the way he isnt fricking clark kent. and whats wrong drawing in a female crowd, spidey dosent have to go all twilight to attract the female audiences, he's life has always been surrounded by some sort of romance. they just have to have a good romantic story, but that dosent meant it has to go all romance. several people have said on here toby maguire was around the same age as garfield when he did the first movie. raimi's version of peter parker and especially spiderman was not the character i loved from the comics.

@Blitzed dude unfortunately a lot of people dont think properly on this site I will never get how they jumped to the conclusion that its going to be like twilight.I only have one doubt which hopefully i am proven wrong by and that is the director. but i will definitely watch this movie

@SuspenseSmith seriously stop wearing about the hair

So you're saying when the masses agree with a production it's wrong to disagree? When all you [frick]s stop judging X-Men First Class I'll shut the [frick] up about Spider-Man, we know barely more of FC then we do of Spider-Man so unless you guys are going to stop judging that before a trailer, i won't stop judging this.
JoshJones
JoshJones - 1/7/2011, 2:12 PM
I'm a First Class defender, so surely you're not addressing I. The movie I've been most judgemental about is Green Lantern, but I'm not complaining about dumb shit like the missing part in Hal's hair or Tomar-Re's missing mask. It just doesn't look all that good to me, but you know what? I'm still going to see it, and I sincerely hope I'm wrong about it.

Detractors of Spider-Man have been malicious about the most mundane details since the project was announced. It's just ridiculous, and perpetuates the nerd/geek stereotype.

@GoddamnSuperman this is my first time commenting on this site and I have been around this site for a while never bothered commenting before. but what the [frick] is wrong with you and other people on this site us fan boys complaining nothing new I have done a fair share of mine but making your mind up about something over a guys hair. SERIOUSLY? and the need of glasses to blend in, go read a comic book about spiderman ok. your right about one thing though yeah a lot of people do complain about FC some have some very good reason some just have some real idiotic reasons. I will definitely watch this and FC, unless the trailer suggest other wise. next time write a editorial with a clearer head.

clearly no one is reading the right words, or just seriously too damn stupid to understand, I'm not hating this movie just for some guys hair, I'm hating it because i can see the signals of what they're doing to the Spider-Man Film, obviously known of you seem to know that you don't have to read anything i wrote. My thoughts on Spider-Man are offcially this:

-Would like to see glasses, not going to lose sleep over it.

-The only thing i'm really pissed about is timing, that is the whole point of this, I do not like the fact their pissing away three films that have done Sony Well, if Marvel Studios was doing this i would be of more positive attitude.

- I Do not trust these Producers anymore, Spider-Man 3 showed their just trying to get a quick buck with whats popular.

- Yes i read the goddamn Spider-Man Comic(nothing after that Mephisto Shit).

- I don't like the fact their doing it in High School for the [frick]ing sake of I'm tired of high school shit.

- Tobey was in High School in Raimi's Spider-Man for Half an hour, not 3 [frick]ing movies, so shut the [frick] up and stop using that as a defense.

- I'm still seeing this film, and doing it without a bias against it.

- I Feel they should worry more about doing well with the character then make money.

- The producers clearly are worried more about whoring the character out and getting money, then making an important deep compelling film.

- I would drop all my shit, if they Marvel had fired the Producers, or they put web flaps on the suit.

-Seriously am i the only one who really really really wants the web flaps on the reboot suit? I mean if no one likes them they can always take em out in the sequel.
Exiles
Exiles - 1/7/2011, 7:10 PM
and x-men first class are not whoring out the x-men franchise. I am not in favour of seeing spidey in high school again but you seem to forget thats where he started off from, if you have read the comics then you shouldn't be suggesting the idea of him wearing glasses. claiming that people are too stupid well is a pretty stupid thing to say when your making predictions about how sequels are going to plan out, who will play what role.

I Feel they should worry more about doing well with the character then make money. (news flash all studios do that).

I also believe that there doing this too soon but making conclusions and assumptions on something that barely has any info like you pointed out is wrong. reactions like this have happened before prime example ledger, he was apparently too much of a pretty boy to play joke well we all know how that turned out. I share some of your concerns but what i am trying to say is to jump to conclusions.
BobGarlen
BobGarlen - 1/7/2011, 7:23 PM
@Exiles, i understand and respect your opinion. I feel X-MEN FC is less of a whore out then X3 and Origins, as they're not advertising it as "WOLVERINE and THE X-MEN" I'm rooting for this to be good, believe me i really don't want to see a bad film and it would break my heart really, the high tech suit design worries me, and i feel if they did Adult Spider-Man and only briefly referenced High School I'd be going "[frick]in' Aye!"

TheGoddamnSuperman

You clearly did not read your "The Amazing Spiderman" comics growing up. I've been a huge spidey fan since I was a kid. My dad owned many of the vintage spiderman comics he had from when he was growing up in the 60's and 70's and I lived on the character. "The Amazing Spiderman" (the original run) were in my opinion the best by far. It is how stan lee and steve ditko wanted the character to be like. Peter Parker WAS indeed the cool guy (after he got his powers of course) and was able to snag the hotties aka betty brant, gwen stacy, liz allen, and so on. Now im a 19 yr old kid and young too but Im so stoked about basing this movie while peter is in highschool. That was the whole cool part about spiderman!!! He's a kid in school!!!! I think this new guy looks pretty much like pete. Franco shoulve been cast instead of tobey. He ruined the character in spiderman 2 and 3. Quit whining about your bitch and go get 'em web-slinger!!
