DAREDEVIL Star Vincent D'Onofrio Responds To Kingpin Return Rumors

Rumours persist that Vincent D'Onofrio is set to reprise the role of Kingpin in the MCU, and the Daredevil actor has now responded via Twitter - though he doesn't confirm or deny his involvement!

We've been hearing reports relating to Vincent D'Onofrio potentially reprising his Daredevil role as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for quite a while now, but the rumors of his return seem to have picked up steam recently, with several (semi) reliable outlets claiming that the actor will show up as the larger-than-life villain in Disney+'s upcoming Hawkeye series.

The recent trailer offered no hints of a Kingpin appearance, although Echo (Alaqua Cox) is the character's adoptive daughter in the comic books, so his involvement would certainly make sense.

Now, D'Onofrio has responded to these rumor via Twitter... although he didn't exactly give us much more to go on.

The actor has been sharing cryptic poems over the last couple of days, and some fans believe he may have been making reference to Fisk and/or his Hawkeye role. However, D'Onofrio followed-up by asking his followers not to read too much into his writing, before adding that he "appreciates the fandom" and "loved playing him in Daredevil."

If Kingpin is set to show up in Hawkeye, the news is highly unlikely to be made official before the show airs, so we're just going to have to wait and see how things play out. If D'Onofrio does end up returning, though, we can probably expect to see other actors from the now cancelled Netflix shows follow suit.

@Manmarvel - I love the makeup design for Skarsgaard's Harkonnen in Dune: it would be awesome if they did something like that, but maybe a bit more sculpted on the upper body on D'Onofrio. That wouldn't have made sense in the grounded world of Daredevil, but it would work in the more stylized MCU.

The late Michael Clarke Duncan was great as Kingpin sadly his material wasn't as good as D'onfrios.

If this is a Wilson Fisk variant, then that means another variant could cross paths with DD.

Daredevil and Kingpin will end up in the MCU. I kind of hope that the rest of the Defenders do too. Yes even Iron Fist.

In it or not i am psyched for Hawkeye.

But right now my assumption is that he is in it, as is Wilson Bethel as Bullseye. At the end Julia Louis-Dreyfus recruits Bullseye to be in her thunderbolts (or whatever they are calling them) as the hawkeye equivalent. Done.
