SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - It Appears The Lizard Has Also Been Spotted In The First Trailer For The Movie

The first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has got everyone talking, but did you catch this blink-and-you'd-miss-it appearance from The Lizard? We're pretty sure it's him, and you can take a look here.

Rhys Ifans played Curt Connors in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, and that character is, of course, better known as The Lizard. He was certainly an effective enough foe for the web-slinger, even if his appearance was...a tad disappointing. Regardless, there have been rumours for a while now about the monstrous baddie being part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it looks like that's been confirmed!

One eagle-eyed fan took a closer look at last night's trailer and found a moment that, yes, definitely appears to feature The Lizard leaping towards Peter Parker (you can see the tail).

With rumours swirling that Doctor Strange traps all these villains in a mystical "prison" of some sort, we can't help but wonder if that's what we see here, especially as The Lizard is seemingly repelled by a magical barrier. There's been no official word on Ifans reprising the role, though Marvel Studios might not need him if the scientist falls entirely to his animalistic nature as he so often has on the page.

Either way, we're definitely hoping for a redesign, because that 2012 version...well, it wasn't the greatest.

After this trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, we can be confident in saying that the web-slinger is going to find himself going up against Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, Electro, and The Lizard. As for the other two members of the Sinister Six, Rhino and Sandman are reportedly also set to return.

On the one hand I still feel this could get to crowded if they lean into the Raimi and Webb movies on top of the identity reveal thing, especially since that appears to be the core of the movie and not just a throw-away joke.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind Holland's Spider-Man taking on a multiverse Sinister Six (made up of Ock, Goblin, Lizard, Electro and two others).

Still hope this also leaves the door open for an Octavius from the MCU if this version is from the Raimi movies.

@bkmeijer - Vulture for sure, but who would round out the sixth spot??

@Manmarvel - Doubt it'll be Mysterio, but if they're going multiverse I could see it be Dane DeHaan's Goblin (if he didn't say he wouldn't return)

Or maybe Sandman, but they have to undo the ending from Spider-Man 3 for him to be a full-on villain again. Even though they're already doing that with Ock

@Manmarvel - honestly if it were up to me it would be 2 villains from each respective franchise.

The Tobey series brings Goblin and Ock.

The Garfield series brings Lizard and Electro (although despite the inferior take, I would’ve preferred Rhino due to his history with the Six).

And the Holland series MUST finally do Scorpion and bring back either Vulture (who I personally can’t see killing Peter, hurting him maybe but never out to kill) or Shocker 2. Either that or Mysterio revealed to be alive, but I doubt it.

If Strange is a variant, I’m wet. If strange is strange and the writers are out of touch, much less wet but will do some mushrooms and watch 7 times nonetheless.
