We recently reported on a rumor that the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home may be set to debut at CinemaCon next week, but that's yet to be confirmed, and we've had no official updates on the movie for quite some time.
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is currently doing the rounds to promote Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and was subjected to the inevitable bombardment of questions regarding the elusive first look at the Spidey threequel. While he didn't make any major announcements, Feige did weigh in on the perceived "secrecy" surrounding the film and its first teaser.
"Honestly, I've seen the fervor online. It has not necessarily occurred to me that it is any more or less secret than any of our other projects," Feige tells Cinemablend. "I think all of our projects… we want to preserve surprises. That's all the secrecy is for."
That's fair enough, but No Way Home is set to hit theaters in less than four month's time, so it is slightly out of the ordinary that we haven't seen so much as a teaser. Still, rest assured folks, that trailer is coming, and ComicBook.com has managed to secure a massive exclusive.
Feige has confirmed to them - are you sitting down? - that the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home will debut... before the movie is released!
In all seriousness, Feige did appear to confirm that the threequel is sticking with its December 17 release date, so that's something.
While specific plot details are still under wraps, we do know that Spider-Man: No Way Home will feature Spider-Man 2 actor Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, and TASM 2's Jamie Foxx as Electro, along with returning cast members Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori and Marisa Tomei. Benedict Cumberbatch will also appear as Doctor Strange.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (among others) are expected to return as their respective takes on Spidey, but that's yet to be made official.
