With so much of that Spider-Man vs. Doctor Octopus battle shown off in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailers, the villain we arguably know the least about heading into this movie is Green Goblin. Various sneak peeks have confirmed the presence of his classic costume, though he's also been spotted unmasked wearing goggles and a hood in a battered version of the green suit.
Now, a new snippet of footage from the threequel shows Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn looking thoroughly unhinged as he casually throws a Pumpkin Bomb at Peter Parker.
The wall-crawler is in his Integrated Suit at this point, so it's probably a scene from near the end of the movie. We're still not sure what to think about Osborn flying around minus any sort of mask, but it seems like Marvel Studios just couldn't find a way to make a comic accurate version of the costume work.
Check out the very brief new footage from Spider-Man: No Way Home below:
"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk," reads the new synopsis. "When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse."
Among the film's confirmed cast members are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, J.K. Simmons, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Based on the new trailer, we can now add Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans to that impressive list of actors (fingers crossed for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).
Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.
