The Critics Choice Awards are among Hollywood's most prestigious ceremonies, and March 17 will mark the second annual Critics Choice Super Awards. Intended to recognise more mainstream titles in the pop culture and genre realms, last year's effort was well-received and saw The Boys pick up the most awards (both film and television are recognised).

Now, the nominees for the 2022 show have been revealed and it's Spider-Man: No Way Home and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings leading the charge with five nominations each. On the TV side, Netflix's Midnight Mass and Paramount+'s Evil both nabbed six nominations apiece.

We're sure many of you will also be happy to see Zack Snyder's Justice League receive some love, including "Best Superhero Movie" and "Best Actress In A Superhero Movie" for Gal Gadot.

@BlackBeltJones - Maybe I shouldn't be lobbing this grenade into a CBM site, but there are no false allegations. Amber Heard is an abusive piece of shit *but so is Johnny Depp.*

He lost his defemation court case because witnesses on the set of Pirates 5 corroborated her story and confirmed Depp was lying about how he cut his hand. People [frick]ing saw him.

Look, Heard is on audio admitting she hit him, [frick] her, but I despisssssssse how Johnny Depp has become this Men's Right's Activist icon and the symbol for the wrongly accused man. They were two pieces of shit who would hit each other and throw things when they got into arguments. [frick] them both!

So ... how exactly are they judged? If it's by critical reception then Rotten/Meta puts Suicide Squad and Spider-Man in a tie (90/93 | 71/70), if it's audience then Spider-Man is 2 oh on that, and if it's social media then it's Justice League.

At least we can all agree that the most deserving of an award is Nic Cage for Willy's Wonderland.

@BlackBeltJones -

Unsettling in all the right ways. That final birthing scene was straight out of Carpenter if he ever tried to adapt HR Giger's art.

@DrReedRichards - Jaw dropping “oh shit!” Moment. One of the most jarring scenes in film ever for me. The titanium spine gleaming out of the kid’s back….something else
