Tom Holland Addresses Anthony Mackie's Disneyland Taunts; Talks Spider-Man/Captain America Team-Up (Exclusive)

Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has responded to Anthony Mackie's Disneyland challenge, while admitting that he'd be open to making a Spider-Man/Captain America team-up a reality down the line...

Since their characters first came to blows in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie have had something of a playful rivalry online. They've each gotten the best of each other over the years, though The Falcon and The Winter Soldier star fired another shot back in August when he challenged Holland to beat his high score on Disneyland's Web-Slingers ride.

The ride stars Holland as the theme park's Spider-Man Variant, and Mackie got to try it out during the opening ceremony for Avengers Campus. Of course, we had to give Holland the chance to respond during our chat about Spider-Man: No Way Home last week, and while the actor had some fighting words, he also admitted to being open to a team-up with Mackie's Captain America!

I’ve got to ask: Anthony Mackie obviously became the new Captain America earlier this year, but he keeps jumping on social media trying to bait you, saying he got the high score on your new Disneyland ride and wondering whether you can beat it. Have you beaten his high score, and do you think he’s just angling for a Spider-Man/Captain America team-up?

Listen, I love Anthony Mackie. If there’s a Spider-Man/Captain America team-up down the line, then we should absolutely make that happen. You know, he can brag about beating me on my own ride - which I haven’t actually ridden yet - but until he’s got his own ride, he’s got nothing. He doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will exclusively be released in cinemas from December 15th!

The rivalry between these two in interviews was fun to watch.

No Way Home is going to make a killing at the box office so I’m sure Sony and Marvel are going to continue working together. While a Captain America team-up would be fun, I just want to see Spidey team up with Daredevil. Now that Feige said that Charlie Cox would continue to play him in the MCU, now is the best time to this team-up happen.

Tom Holland better remember his place in the pecking order. He still ain't got nothing on those quads and thighs.

Speaking of theme park rides. I'm still waiting for Disney to develop something that rivals Universals Escape from Gringotts. I can't help but feel a Hellicarrier themed ride with the Avengers battling while we escape on a Quinjet would make an awesome 4D coaster.

@SonOfAGif - Disney couldn't even beat Universal at a Spider-Man ride. Web Slingers looks so boring compared to Islands of Adventure's Spider-Man ride.

Disney tends to beat Universal in animatronics but their thrill can be pretty lacking.

@KelvTwelve - In Disney's defense, DisneyLand is extremely small in comparison to both Universal parks. They had limited space and because of that only made one attraction. Epcot in Orlando is going to have a legit universal studio competitor with Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind.

The Disney plus show made me hate his turn as captain America. Hopefully he gets better writing, because I like him as an actor
