This from MTV's Splash Page...

“Right now, David Lindsay-Abaire, a New York playwright, is working on the screenplay. He says that he’ll be done in about four weeks with his first draft. So that’s where I am right now. And I’m just about to hire a production skeleton.”

“I’ve learned the value of brevity,” said Raimi when asked whether there were any lessons he’d be taking with him into the the movie. The run time for “Spider-Man 3” was 139 minutes, the longest out of the film series.

Raimi was also asked by MTV whether Kirsten Dunst will return as Mary Jane Watson?

“Kirsten? I have talked with her, and she’s very excited about the possibility of it,” Raimi revealed, insisting that although Dunst is willing, it will be the director’s call to make after he reads the script by Lindsay-Abaire. “I think I’m going to have to read the screenplay and make sure everything we’ve talked about is working, before I could honestly tell you absolutely how Dunst’s possible return would go.”

After SM3, all I have to say is, "Suck it, Raimi!" You, Dunst AND that whiney little dork McGuire should be one the first train outta' New York before you can do any more damage to the series!

...and that's all I got to say 'bout that.

^^^ Would you also say that to Bale and Nolan if Batman 3 ended up sucking cock holes? or would you give them another shot? Stupid people like you seem to forget that Raimi gave us the best comic book movie ever(Spider-Man 2) but your quick to say "0mG reb000ts" when one of the films isnt that good. Spider-Man 3 wasnt even that bad. So chill out, get that dick out of your asscheeks, and shut the [frick] up.

Captain - I have very few problems with SM1 & 2 (aside from the terrible casting of McGuire and Dunst)... they WERE great films. But let's face it, SM3 WAS that bad, in fact it was on the level of a Schumacher ('Batman - Death of a Franchise'). Between a convoluted half-assed script, an overcrowded and under-utilized villian's row (Sandman was barely an after-thought in the plot and Raimi killed off Venom, for god's sake!), and SAD attempts at humor to try and cover things up ('Disco Stu' Peter Parker?! C'mon Raimi, who the @#$! are you trying to kid?!), Raimi might have well just put nipples on the Spider-suit and pissed the franchise away! I'm not saying re-boot, I'm saying for the gazillions of dollars spent on making a blockbuster, a director should only get one shot. If he makes a hit - GREAT! On to the next one... But if he screws it up - oh well... "NEXT!" (there's always somebody else in Hollywood standing in line waiting for a shot at the title...) It's called having 'STANDARDS' - most people (past the age of puberty) have them. Going to see a comic book movie shouldn't just be about sporting a chubby just 'cause they made a flick about your favorite superhero - it needs a decent plot, acting, directing, special effects, editing, music, etc. Only when that balance has been achieved do you get a 'Dark Knight' or an 'Iron Man', instead of that last piece of Spider-crap Raimi tried to shovel on us. And "YES" I would say the same thing to Nolan and Bale if the next Batman film sucks! So if all you can say to defend your point is to make pre-pubesent homophobic slurs, and not intelligent, thoughtful arguements, maybe you should be the one to "...chill out, pull your head out of your ass, and GROW THE [FRICK] UP."

Excelsior this, fanboy!

Lol your the one acting like a fanboy. If you really would say that to Bale or Nolan then you are a dumb piece of dogshit. Sorry if i made you come out of your basement, please go back in there and stay there.

"...get that dick out of your asscheeks, and shut the [frick] up...", "...dumb piece of dogshit...", "if i made you come out of your basement, please go back in there and stay there."

Wow - that rapier-like wit of your is just scathing. I imagine you were up all night buring the candle at both ends crafting those amazing zingers! Listen, I'd love to verbally spar with SUCH an intellectual like yourself, but I've got this REALLY pressing engagement I need to attend to (I've got to go watch paint dry). In any case, I have a feeling our sparring match would be like arm-wrestling a leper... and I hate kicking the crap out of a (mentally) disadvataged person...

nah, tought about it on 5 seconds, yours sounds like you lost sleep over trying to come up with something "smart" to say.

There's that wit again! With your mastery of the mono-syllabic vocabulary, I OBVIOUSLY wouldn't stand a chance against such a intellectual giant like yourself...

loganoneil
loganoneil - 5/21/2009, 9:52 AM
"retards like you"... thank you for explaining it to 'simpleton' like myself. Without 'geniuses' like yourself to rely on, I imagine civilization as we know it would come screaching to a halt. Oh, and by the way (if YOU didn't get the joke, which you OBVIOUSLY didn't), I was kidding about not standing a chance against you in a verbal sparring match (based on your piss-poor performance thus far, the outcome would be as blatant as clubbing a baby harp seal...). It's called 'SARCASM' - look it up in the dictionary... you know, that big book with all the 'words 'n stuff' (that you've apparently never used).

Since we're at it, are there any other adolescent thoughts or represeed emotions you'd like to get off your shield, Captain Obvious? Screw not kicking the crap out of a (mentally) disadvataged person, this is kinda' fun!

guys, calm down! (though i have to admit ur both pretty hilarious) you both have good points, Raimi made a good job with the first two but from all accounts the third movie (which was crap) was not fully in his control so although some of the blame lies with him (he was after all the director) the third film had a lot of bad points but as long as 4 has Raimi in full control i have faith that it will be as good as the first two. lets just be glad that thye dont have whoever wrote the script for the third fil anywhere near this one..!

BTW, heres who id like to see as the new MJ as I also hate Dunst:-

Christina Hendricks

I hope this pic will calm you both down, lol!

All i know is that ill be there opening day :) Josh, you dont like Dunst?
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 5/21/2009, 5:59 PM
Cap: so will i!!! well, 'hate' wasnt the right word to be fair...i guess im just fed up with her as MJ. her character hasnt really progressed and im fed up of the will they/wont they storyline which seems to be dragging on even in Spider-Man 3 when they were actually together, lol! maybe if her character is better written it wont be so bad. i dont find dunst all that attractive either, especially not supermodel attractive like MJ is supposed to be in the comics. Christina above here though is perfect!

loganoneil: shut the hell up hey? im 18 and im pretty sure im more mature than you!
loganoneil
loganoneil - 5/22/2009, 7:37 AM
Joshw - my apologies, my comment was meant more as a commentary on Cap's state of mind, not an actual dis on actual age.

I totally agree with you on Dunst - she's no Mary Jane (hell, she's not even worthy of 'Plain Jane'!). And the ORIGINAL point I was trying to make about McGuire (before the verbal sparring match between Captain Idiot and myself) was that Parker is a bookworm, not a complete DORK. 30 minutes into the first film and I was halfway rooting for Flash to shove him in a locker! And he hasn't changed or evolved... IN 3 FILMS! Tobey, here's a hint - you can't call it 'ACTING' when you play the same whiney, annoying whimp (mainly "yourself") in EVERY FILM you do (and not just the 'Spiderman' films!).
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 5/22/2009, 7:53 AM
loganoneil: no worries man, we're cool! mcguire wouldnt be my first choice either an i would prefer to see more of the cocky wisecracking spidey from the comic books!

Bale played the same douche in both Batman films, is that not acting? try to make sense next time ok there buddy? And it seems your the only one bitching about Spider-Man 1 and 2.
