Based speculation: Who's REALLY the 2nd villain in BvS

Based speculation: Who's REALLY the 2nd villain in BvS

So we now know a new threat will arise in BvS. Many think Lex will somehow engineer Doomsday but I don't think so. Hit the jump for who I think will be Lex's muscle in BvS and what that means for Justice League...

Baring in mind this is just my opinion based on one piece of evidence.

The second villain...

Is...

KALIBAK.

Why you ask? Does everyone remember this:

That's Henry Cavill posing with a "lightsaber". Only thing is, here's all the lightsabers from Star Wars:

So where did Cavill's "lightsaber" come from? Not from Star Wars I'm willing to bet. But there is a Superman villain who carries something that looks like his "lightsaber"

Kalibak. And the "lightsaber" isn't one at all but his Beta Club.

So what about the "Doomsday rumour"? Well firstly it came from a dodgy source to begin with. No not El Mayimbe himself, he just reports what he hears. Unfortunately what he got was a reportably fake script he still believes is true. And the people who claim they've seen him probably can't tell Kalibak from Doomsday.

Kalibak

Doomsday.

So if Kalibak and by extension Intergang are in BvS. Then the villain in Justice League is kinda obvious.

OK Jokers, so where do YOU think Cavill's "lightsaber" came from and why it was in a BvS shoot?

@BlackestKnight, Illuminati? They're just some guys who hang around after Bilderberg meetings and worry about the state of the world.

You have to be joking......

If you are serious then this is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in a very long time.

You not seen much for a while then.

Or do YOU know where Cavill's "lightsaber" came from? Because it really doesn't look like any Star Wars lightsaber seen so far (including TFA). If you CAN explain it I'll concede the point.

Or you can admit a Superman villain in a Superman movie really isn't that "ridiculous"...

If this sets up an Apokolips vs New Genesis film, I'd be all for this.

Seems unlikely, but it definitely sounds better than forcing Doomsday into the mix

True dat. Did anyone read the fake script? Asides from glaring mistakes, The script actually killed off Superman. With a Justice League movie coming. Yeah...

This is actually not that big of a stretch. It's clearly a prop of some kind, mostly likely from the set (see Cavill's "robes") and it looks similar to a lightsaber. Guess what also looks similar to a lightsaber? Kalibak's Beta Club and Barda's Meta Rod, both of which can hurt Superman.

Most importantly, though, look at the BACKGROUND. It's the same from the WW pic released around the same time, and it's the same destroyed rubble shot that features Batman in the teaser trailer. So this is from the final act of the film.

Furthermore, I'm not sure that Doomsday, for all his strength, qualifies as a larger threat than Zod's World Engine. Darkseid, however, is not only far more powerful, but far more ambitious in his aims. And since they seem to be selectively adapting the New 52, it would make sense.

Facepalm..

That was just a fun little gag he had with J.j Abrams which is a good friend of his.

It would not make any sense if the son of Darkseid would be the threat.

Someone like Doomsday makes more sense in that aspect that you can easily make him work in a logical aspect of having Lex Luthor either finding him in the earths core, or creating him from Zdd (allthought that feels more like it would be Bizzaro)

Oh, I know it's a gag. But where did the "lightsaber" come from? 1) It's never been seen before and 2) What would a lightsaber be doing on a BvS shoot?

As I've said before, a Superman villain in a Superman movie makes all the sense in the world.

Doomsday was created on Krypton. By Berton. The MOS blu-ray said it:

Lex. Luthor. Will. NOT. Create. Doomsday.

Facepalm indeed...

1) It's too early for Doomsday
2) Batman v Superman is the wrong context for Doomsday
3) Doomsday is not a larger threat/greater danger than Zod's World Engine
4) A Lex-created Doomsday would miss the point of Doomsday: a creature that has an evolutionary adaption to death itself.

In contrast, something Darkseid-related would not only signal a greater danger to humanity than extinction (Darkseid has aimed to control humanity), but would justifiably require Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. The "lightsaber" by itself would not necessarily indicate much of anything, but the fact that Cavill is wearing the Superman costume in front of an apocalyptic background seen twice now, that includes both Wonder Woman AND Batman, indicates that this prop possibly is from this part of the movie itself. And that combination of evidence strongly suggests an Apokoliptan threat.

This doesn't even take into account that the subtitle and the presence of 4/7 strongly suggest that BvS will lead into Justice League; Doomsday, while powerful, doesn't constitute a threat requiring seven individuals to put down over the course of a two-part story. Darkseid does.

That said, the weapon looks very much like Barda's weapon, not Kalibak's (which is bigger).

"Most of those lightsabers aren't canon or real props."

Does that help you or me? If it isn't canon or real then it's definitely not what Cavill's holding. I just included them because someone would otherwise say "well, I think it's such-and-such's lightsaber..." and then I'd have to find it to prove them wrong.

Thanks for making me explain that BTW.

"How do we know that Cavill isn't holding an EpVII prop, or something fan made?"

Cavill is in BvS not EpVII. Both movies are ultra-secretive, we'll-only-give-you-info-when-we-feel-like-it movies. They are not going to start trading props.

And a fan made lightsaber is really reaching. a) Most fan made lightsabers are repros of "existing" ones and b) we're back to the "what is a fan made lightsaber doing on a BvS shoot" question.

Bottom line, it is FAR more likely that it's a BvS prop with a lightsaber effect added than a random lightsaber popping up on a BvS set. And the DCU item that matches the prop is a beta club.

I'm in agreement of this possibly being what we could expect.

It's funny how some people try so hard to dis-credit things they reject all other actual possibilities lol. From jump I was skeptical about the Lex "creating" Doomsday rumor. Like someone mentioned he is more likely to create Bizzaro (then eventually Superboy).

This would be cool if this were the case. Good theory.
