UPDATE: Man Of Tomorrow Star Adria Arjona Finally Mentions Wonder Woman During An Interview

Up until now, Man of Tomorrow star Adria Arjona has avoided mentioning either of the characters she's rumored to be playing during interviews...

UPDATE: Screen Rant has published a new interview with Arjona, and while she did her best to stay vague about her MOT character, she may have given away a little more than she meant to.

Arjona confirmed that she filmed her scenes when the movie was "wrapping up," which may support the recent rumor that her character - be it Wonder Woman or Maxima - will only have a minor role to set up her next DCU appearance.

"Great experience. We had a nice, little dinner to celebrate. David was there, and Nick was there. I was just happy that it happened as the movie was wrapping up, so we could celebrate the moment, celebrate the movie, and celebrate the reunion with James and Peter. It was really fun."

The Andor star was also asked if she could say "three words" relating to her character that nobody will understand until they watch the movie.

"Well, look... I don't want to lie, but I also want to protect the audience's experience. So, it's a little dance that I'm learning to navigate, and it's hard. It's really hard. I almost got busted [earlier].

Oh my God! Everything that I say is like... I just thought of three, but I just got into the DC universe. I really don't want to get fired, so I'm gonna I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. Is that cool? I'm just so nervous. I'm like, "What?" I have three in my head, which are pretty good, and if I say them, people won't figure them out. But the people in charge will, and then I'm scared."

Original story follows.

Adria Arjona has finally mentioned Wonder Woman while discussing her mysterious role in James Gunn's Man of Tomorrow.

This obviously isn't a huge deal, but it is worth noting that the Onslaught star has avoided name-dropping Diana or Maxima during interviews up until now.

For context, Arjona was asked what "the wildest rumor she's heard about herself" is, and replied: "That I may be, or may be not playing Maxima... or Wonder Woman."

It's interesting that Arjona now feels more comfortable addressing the Wonder Woman speculation. Sadie Sink often found herself in a similar situation during interviews in the buildup to Spider-Man: Brand New Day's release, but refused to so much as acknowledge any questions about Jean Grey until after the movie was playing in theaters.

Arjona is proving to be a little easier to rattle, recently describing her character as "iconic" and saying how much she loves her costume during a Happy Sad Confused appearance.

Though the article was mostly speculative, Forbes recently posited that Arjona will likely be officially announced as Wonder Woman before Man of Tomorrow's release, referring to her actual role in the sequel as the "worst-kept secret in the industry."

Whoever Arjona is playing in the movie, she has gotten into tremendous shape for the role.

“I have muscles that I've never had in my life," she said in another recent interview. "I'm training two to three hours a day on a crazy diet. Drinking coffee is the only thing that keeps me up. And I’m really excited!”

Arjona has also shared her excitement about reuniting with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, who cast her in 2016's The Belko Experiment.

“I'm excited to be reunited with the family that started everything for me, which is Peter Safran and James Gunn. They gave me my first movie. I wouldn't have done any of the movies that we've spoken about today if not for them. I wouldn't be in Andor if it hadn't been for Peter Safran and James Gunn, so it feels really f--king cool and really exciting to reunite with that team and to be in that family. And that's all I'm going to tell you!”

Do you think Arjona is really playing Wonder Woman? Let us know in the comments.

The plot of MOT will focus on the Man of Steel (Corenswet) and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) putting their differences aside and joining forces to defend the planet against Brainiac (Lars Eidinger).

Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), and Maria Gabriella de Faria (The Engineer) have all been confirmed to return, and we recently learned that Aaron Pierre will reprise his Lanterns role as John Stewart.

Xolo Maridueña has also been confirmed to reprise the role of Blue Beetle.

"At its core, it’s about Clark and Lex," Gunn said in a recent interview. "I relate to both of them. I relate to Lex’s ambition and obsession — minus the murder. And I relate to Superman’s belief in people, his Midwestern values. They’re two sides of me."

Man of Tomorrow will hit theaters on July 9, 2027.

Never forget, Adria Arjona is only playing Wonder Woman because Jennifer Holland didn’t want to dye her hair or wear a wig.

@Lisa89 - so you think she’s Wonder Woman?

I wouldn’t think they’d go this far to keep maxima as a secret 🤔

@PS118 - Unless they just want to try and build hype around the “mystery”
At this point, unless she’s playing a huge character, this obfuscation is stupid

Also that wouldn’t be Gunn’s style to want a fake rumor so bad PR. The guy shoots down rumors all the time on X so 🤷‍♂️

I have a hard time with Gunn's casting. I've actually enjoyed the DCU content for the most part and I think the actors he chooses actually do a pretty solid job and by and large look the part (sometimes perfectly) but the casting always feels a little off. Like, ok, they look the part and they're doing a good job but wasn't there someone who could have been a bit better? I think it was a little better with Guardians of the Galaxy, but maybe that was MCU control forcing his hand more, but for example I love Nathan Fillion and his Guy Gardner is ok for how they've set him up, but his appearance in Guardians 3 was distracting at best (but admittedly Guardians 3 is near the bottom of the barrel as far as my MCU likes are concerned). But what is it that feels off? I thought Corenswet and Hoult were phenomenal and Alcock was much better than I thought, but so much of the rest is just a little off. Is it the writing? Is it the supporting characters/actors? I dunno. Looking forward to Man of Tomorrow, but it all still feels off.

@SummersEssex - I agree. After Cavill, Corenswet looks small. The new suit doesn't help matters. I think Lois Lane was the best casting of the new bunch... way better than Amy Adams.

@Satur9 - it just really shows how physique and costume designs are very important; especially since David is about 3 or 4 in taller than Cavill.

Knowing James Gunn, it's Maxima. Seems like it's just WB dragging him into the Superman, Batman, WW thing. If he had his way, it'd be Poka Dot Man IV by now.

Not saying that she is short but if she is playing Wonder Woman, shouldn't she be at least considerably tall?
elgaz
elgaz - 9/9/2026, 12:52 PM
@Arthorious - She's 5"7, with some camera tricks and so on they can certainly make her look more statuesque. I would imagine there is a pretty small pool of 5"11+ female actors who look like Wonder Woman, are in the right age category, can manage the physicality and can also actually act.

the further we move away from the memory of gadot as WW, the better.

i'll admit i did like quite a bit of what zack snyder did in his films but i would not consider myself a snyder super-fan.

but that shit was a double edged sword - cuz snyder really did some long lasting brand damage to DC.
