My Adventures With Superman announced that season 2 has begun production after the tenth and last episode of season 1 ended. This is excellent news as the show was thought to be on the cancellation block during Warner Bros.' content purge following its merger with Discovery.

Batman: Caped Crusader was scrapped at HBO Max before eventually finding a new home at Amazon Prime Video and it was thought that My Adventures With Superman might suffer a similar fate.

Instead, Cartoon Network gave the series a two-season order but some fans were concerned that the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes would put the new animated take on the Last Son of Krypton back on the chopping block.

Studios have already canceled a number of previously renewed or popular series, citing the ongoing strikes as the cause for such an unexpected move.

The My Adventures With Superman season 1 finale hinted that SPOILER: [General Zod] will soon return in season 2 to attack the Earth.

The fansite Superman Homepage recently interviewed My Adventures With Superman co-producer and writer Josephine Campbell, who confirmed that season 2 would also consist of 10 episodes. While Campbell didn't confirm a release date for season 2, she did hint that production work on the next round of episodes is pretty far along.

My Adventures with Superman was created and developed by Jake Wyatt (Steven Universe, 2013 DuckTales) for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Following the release of new episodes on Adult Swim, the latest episodes are then uploaded to the Max streaming service.

The show features Jack Quaid as Clark Kent  aka Superman, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, and Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen.

Actors appearing in recurring roles include Darrell Brown as Perry White, Kari Wahlgren as Martha Kent, Reid Scott as Jonathan Kent, Chris Parnell as Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke, Debra Wilson as Amanda Waller, and Joel de la Fuente as General Sam Lane.

The series is animated by Korea-based Studio Mir, who previously produced The Boondocks, The Legend of Korra, and Netflix's Voltron: Legendary Defender.

This show was actually pretty good. The new takes on the villains was pretty cool

Had no idea it was the same studio that did Legend of Korra, no wonder the animation looks so good

@Saga - I thought this was all in-house WB, but I guess I should've noticed, their art style is pretty distinct.

I enjoyed this show so much, it's so nice to have a clear cut mister nice guy kind of awkward Superman again and have it being well received too.

Really like the show. It’s take on Clark is superb and the twist on his origins is interesting.

Good, it's a pretty good animated Superman series that goes in some interesting directions with the Supes mythos.

Ngl I thought this show was gonna suck but I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. There's a good amount to like about it. I like Supes' whole character specifically and the trio also have a great dynamic. I also really like the overall tone. It's lighthearted, but gets serious when shit goes down.

On the other hand, the creative liberties they took with the mythos was a real turnoff for me. I didn't mind it as much in the beginning, but they pushed it further and further towards the end. The season also felt rushed, like Lois and Clark's relationship. They fall in love in the first 10 minutes of the show. I wish that relationship could have blossomed all the way through Season 2. There were also some really dumb episodes that wasted time and could have been used to flesh out the characters and story more instead.

Overall, I give it a 7/10.

Wait that was the last episode of the season??

I'm really enjoying the show but my only gripe is Clark and Lois' relationship. It feels a little too forced and has moved very fast. Like, they're relying on the audience's previous knowledge of these characters to be the foundation of their relationship instead of establishing it themselves.

One episode they're barely realizing they have feelings for each other, and two episodes later they're saying "i love you's"

Or maybe I'm just being too critical of a children's cartoon.

I'm glad someone else saw this.

It's the same trick they pulled in the DCEU with MOS. It felt unearned and rushed.

In a sequence of flashbacks in the first season, they did the build-up of Lois and Clark far better in S&L.

For Superman: Legacy, I hope they do better and make it build layer by layer in a natural way. But with today's writers, I have severe doubts.

The show was ok for me. Had a few good moments as well as bad. I really enjoyed the new takes on Krypton. As a whole, I could see why some fell in love with this show, but personally, I hope this doesn't influence "Superman: Legacy".

Best take on Clark and Lois (and Jimmy) in ages. The superhero side of the show is pretty average though…. I’d be fine with more investigative journalism and less action in season 2.
dragon316 - 9/3/2023, 5:57 PM
Have yet to see this show

This show pretty much has sucked and makes all the characters less interesting then they were before.
