A couple of new BTS images of Henry Cavill preparing for his debut as Superman in 2013's Man of Steel have found their way online, and they give us a look at the Justice League actor sporting an unused test-suit.

The costume doesn't appear to be a million miles away from the one that Zack Snyder and co. ultimately went with, but you'll notice that the yellow is missing from the iconic S symbol on his chest. If there are any other differences they're very subtle.

What do you guys think? Are you glad they went with the more classic yellow in the shield, or would you have preferred this one? Sound off below.

@JonC - I believe he was trying to do something similar to Red Son Superman



Snyder was too ambitious with the DCEU and [frick]ed up everything. Instead of going for "cool factors" like flashpoint cameo in bvs, dream sequence of batman, man-bat, etc. he should have just made a cohesive film instead of random compilations string together to make a film.

@PantherKing - I think nic cage's costume is better than snyder/cavil. I miss the bright blue and red underwear.

@GreedoSarducci - that was the incomplete suit from early stages. The complete suit before it was taken done was closer to the comics.

Also, I'm a fan of the Superman suit in MOS. I know it's different from what we've usually seen, but I like the organic lines that curve on top of the suit.


Makes the outfit feel more 'otherworldly' to me.

The suit looked good in Man of Steel and BvS, but wow did it look bad in Justice League. The airbrushed muscles and foam padding were really obvious. Look at the scene where Supes and Flash have their foot race. His shoulder muscles look like hockey pads. It looks like a bad TV costume from the 90’s. I wonder if that was Whedon over-lighting a suit meant to be filmed in shadow, or maybe it was a stunt suit designed for wide shots, but wow did it look bad.
