POLL: Which Villain(s) Would You Like To See In A MAN OF STEEL Sequel?

It's still early days (especially as the chances of a DC Cinematic Universe rest squarely on the shoulders of Man of Steel's success), but who would you guys like to see Superman face off against in any future instalments once the origin story is out of the way with? Here's your chance to decide!

While Batman's rogue gallery tends to get a lot of attention over at DC Comics, Superman also has an awful lot of great enemies who deserve to be brought to life on the big screen (yes, we've seen many of them in Smallville, but the less said about the majority of them, the better...). General Zod will be the first to be re-imagined for a modern audience, and while we don't know what Easter eggs may be scattered throughout Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, it's unlikely that the focus will be on anyone else. Below is a list of arguably the most well-known and iconic villains, so be sure to cast your vote and tell us what direction you would most like to see the franchise take in the future. After all, the director has already teased plans for further instalments and it's hard to imagine the incredible looking reboot being anything other than a huge hit when it's released next month!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

RELEASE DATE: June 14th, 2013.

Brainiac is well overdue for an appearance. He needs to be in the next one. Really hope they don't use Doomsday unless he's simply a pawn for Brainiac or whatever, the Death of Superman is a terrible storyline.

Doomsday or Darkseid...so tired of Lex Luther
PaulRom
PaulRom - 5/12/2013, 10:23 AM
Brainiac is a must. Doomsday, Metallo and Bizarro would be cool too. Wouldn't mind seeing a proper Lex Luthor either.
PaulRom
PaulRom - 5/12/2013, 10:24 AM
Darkseid is awesome, but I'd rather save him for Justice League. He's such a big threat, even Superman couldn't beat him on his own (doesn't mean he hasn't in the past).
MitchConner
MitchConner - 5/12/2013, 10:24 AM
Or [email protected] of Superman put DC back on the map in the 90s...they were getting their ass handed to them by Marvel (namely XMen) and that story put DC comics back in my dressers...

Brainiac as the main villian in the next movie, should be the one who introduces kryptonite into the films, then luthor, bizzaro, doomsday, parasite and metallo as the villians in the final movie

@PaulRom...while you are here, you removed my stock article for copy/paste...are we not allowed to paste stories? Or should I sum it up and reference the link?

I voted Parasite, because I think with a modern update a la Bane, he could be very cool. But I'll settle with Brainiac and Luthor.

Let it go.

I voted Darkseid, but I think he'd be better for a JLA movie(if we ever get one). So I'd go with Brainiac for the MOS sequel, and Doomsday for the final movie.
angus666
angus666 - 5/12/2013, 10:34 AM
Bizzaro would be cool. It would be action packed and he could sustain a full movie unlike Doomsday. For him he would have to be in only one fight scene because it wouldn't make sense for him to ever stop fighting.

@MitchConner: When writing an article, simply copying and pasting the original source's is a no-no. The way to do it is to write it in your own words.

Lex Is my favorite but can't carry a movie by himself. I liked how has was on young justice he needs to be the boss he can't be a physical threat to superman.
DCjohnny
DCjohnny - 5/12/2013, 10:47 AM
doomsday.... here is why....
Superman dies stopping Doomsday... and followed straight in Justice League sequel in which the destruction of Coast City and the resurrection of Superman take place...
MitchConner
MitchConner - 5/12/2013, 10:47 AM
@PaulRom, got it, I can do that...when I first saw that I thought that maybe it was because it was about stock...I only want everyone to wake up to the opportunities in these films...I've owned Marvel stock since it was $3 back 2001...and it has been a ride...I sold a lot during 2011 -2012, but obviously I sold too quick because Disney is now making money hand over fist on the same properties...my stock account is through the roof and it would be nice to see some of our boys making money off the stuff they love...but no worries, I will fix...I apologize...

Also, I agree with the post here, Doomsday would have to be last, even after Darkseod, since he is actually stronger than him anyway , and cannot be killed
rocky
rocky - 5/12/2013, 10:49 AM
Lex Luthor needs to build up during the first couple of films. He can be a villain but remain sort of behind the scenes before he exposes himself

Sort of the way they're doing with the new Spidey and Osborn

Doomsday or Brainiac would be my choice for part 2. I'm convinced it's going to be Brainiac because of the look of Zod's ship
MitchConner
MitchConner - 5/12/2013, 10:50 AM
@DC Johnny, that was my original thought as well, but do you think if would be cooler if Doomsday is introduced after Darkseid faces the th JLA? For example, we do two MOS movies, then one JLA, then in the next MOS movie Doomsday is introduced as someone that beats the JLA and then Darkseod, and the third MOS is about dupes facing him...what do ya think?
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 5/12/2013, 10:55 AM
Keep Doomsday for JL2.

I voted for Parasite. I think Brainiac and Darkseid are too big for one hero alone.
Webhead007
Webhead007 - 5/12/2013, 11:06 AM
Doomsday should be in the 3rd Superman film. Darkseid should be in JLA. Brainiac should be in the sequel.
MJPETTY7
MJPETTY7 - 5/12/2013, 11:11 AM
Brainiac for Man of Steel 2
Darkseid for Justice League
Doomsday for Man of Steel 3
Lex Luthor can be involved in all of the above.

Maybe we are getting ahead of ourselves, I mean, what if MoS blows? I'll reserve judgement for if I want to see a sequel until after MoS is released b/c the last 2 franchises DC has tried to start, I didn't ever need to see a sequel to (Jonah Hex & Green Lantern).
DCjohnny
DCjohnny - 5/12/2013, 11:14 AM
@MitchConner

I totally agree with you ...
but...
I believe that in justice league, it would be justice league vs darkseid(assuming he will be the villain) and in man of steel sequel it will superman vs doomsday one on one ...
