I think this movie looks sick. I've heard a lot of fans talking bad about it and maybe I only think it looks cool because im not one of them. I think that Frank Miller is big enough a fan and good enough a director to not let this mvoie be bad. Sometimes I watch comic book movies and I think that they are too comic booky. Like in 300 when the Persian fades to black and his eyes are still showing. But I think this one will be so over the top it'll be awesome.

Yeah, I agree. This is a different kind of comic movie. Frank knew Will Eisner personally & i couldn't think of anyone better than for him to direct it.

The new look I certainly don't mind, as long as they're able to stick to what the characters are known for. I will be personally disappointed if the Spirit has to narrate his own story, though. The Spirit NEVER needs narration. But I think Frank Miller will do great with the material.

yes Frank Miller directing Eisner style splash-pages onto film(maybe?) WILL rule. I can't believe the watchmen is getting more hype by the fans wtf.

I'm not suprised that Watchmen is getting more hype. One-shot graphic novels always seem to get more hype from fans than long running series. I think its because there is only one shot in getting it right for movies like Watchmen and fans are more critical about it and therefore anticipate it more. Like with V for Vendetta; it was a good movie, but it was too different from the graphic novel and many fans didn't like it. I'm a huge Spider-man fan and I've never even read Watchmen and I'm 100 times more excited for Watchmen than I ever was for any Spider-man movie.

I was at first very hopeful for this movie...then somewhat skeptical, now back to being rather anticipatory about it. It looks to be done very well, and with Samuel L, you can't go wrong.

Also, Watchmen is going to be a BAD-ASS flick. The series was amazing in all respects, sotry, characterization, ministories, even the reminiscing parts from old heroes was cool...Now, from what I understand, this movie is going to be about 2.5 hours long, and when the DVD hits, it will be an uncut 3hrs, with a 3.5 hour version that includes the mini-comic "Tales of the Black Freighter"

It is definitely going to be a one of a kind experience for movie-goers and comic book fans who are new to The Watchmen.

sub, u cant believe watchmen is getting more hype? have u read it?? in fairness ive never read the spirit (hadnt even heard of it before the movie!) but the film looks..meh. its just more of millers boobs and bullets fantasies..not that theres anything wrong with that but its never going to be as popular as something as complex as watchmen

Plus, there the boobs and bullets but only a PG-13 rating. I think that will leave the audience wating more. I'm more excited to see what Miller is going to do with Ronin, but I'm still definitely seeing this flick.
