BUMBLEBEE "Generation 1 Design" Featurette Spotlights The Awesome New G1 Take On Optimus Prime
Fans were delighted to get a glimpse of the old-school redesigns of several popular Transformers in the most recent trailer for Bumblebee, and this new featurette gives us a much better look at G1 Optimus.
Bumblebee is a prequel story set in the '80s, which gave Paramount and director Travis Knight the freedom to reintroduce several well-known Transformers characters sporting classic G1 designs - something old-school fans were very happy to see.
The most recent trailer for the spin-off gave us a few teasing glimpses of Optimus Prime looking a lot more like the original interpretation of the Autobot leader than he did in Michael Bay's movies, and now we can get a much better idea of his final design thanks to this "Generation 1" featurette and a new image.
The video also includes interviews with Knight, as well as stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena. Check it out below and let us know if you're looking forward to Bumblebee in the comments.
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town. Charlie, on the brink of turning 18 years old and trying to find her place in the world, soon discovers the battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns that this is no ordinary yellow Volkswagen.”
Bumblebee hits theaters on December 21, 2018.
