Starring in "Transformers 4" is Jack Reynor in the starring role of a race car driver. The talented and beautiful Nicola Peltz has been cast in the female lead role of Reynor's girlfriend. Mark Wahlberg has signed on to play Nicola's father Flynn Vincent. Sophia Myles will play a major role as a scientist. Peter Cullen returns as the voice of Optimus Prime, and Glenn Morshower reprises his role as General Morshower. Kelsey Grammer was recently cast as the lead villain named "Harold Attinger". Directors Guild of America DGA Award winner Michael Bay will return to direct his fourth installment of the film series from a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger.

TRANSFORMERS 4 will be directed by Michael Bay, from a script written by Ehren Kruger. The cast includes: Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammar, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci and Jack Reynor. Set for release on June 27th, 2014!

I really liked the bot designs for the first movie, but Bay got too comfortable designing bots, for the sequels, as stereotyped caricatures. The "ethnic" robots have gold teeth. The old robot walks around on a cane and farts a lot. The NASCAR robots have mullets and trucker caps, etc.

Come to think of it, I don't think Bay is capable of creating characters, but is just a slave to stereotypes, which is why our chinese robot is basically a Mandarin-speaking Samurai (that's the rumor).

The character from the comics refused to use guns. He's one of my favorites in the IDW books. Im not surprised they changed his look. Knowing Bay he will probably speak Japanese.

Man Bay take the samurai motif to the extreme why don't you what is he going to speak with a crazy Japanese accent speaking broken "Engrish". Damn Bay way to ruin aesthetically a character I like from the newer comics.

He is a creation of the newest Transformers comics made by IDW basically he is an ex Decepticon that was left for dead after a mission and was found by a faction of Cybertronians who were pacifist's and against the war. He was healed by them and taught their ways after a group of slavers attacked the group and Drift fought and killed them he left the group and became an Autobot.

I just read the Transformers 4 wikipedia and it said "There are a group of Japanese transformers" and I think this is one of them.

This actually looks cool... Besides the fact that he's wearing Japanese armor when he's supposed to be Chinese. Dammit Bay, ya screwed this up already. It still looks cool though, so that's a plus. I cannot wait to see him fight, seems awesome
