As Amazon prepares to launch Without Remorse this Friday, they've shared a first look at their next big feature film, The Tomorrow War, which stars Chris Pratt (Jurassic World: Dominion; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) in the lead role as a family man-turned-futuristic soldier who works with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) to save the world from a deadly alien invasion.
The first trailer is expected to hit sometime tomorrow.
The Chris McKay-directed sci-fi actioner was originally slated to open in theaters last December, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Paramount Pictures ultimately made the decision to sell off the distribution rights to Amazon for a whopping $200 million earlier this year.
It's now slated to release exclusively on Prime Video on July 2.
The synopsis reads, "In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet."
In addition to Pratt, the cast features, Yvonne Strahovski, Edwin Hodge, Betty Gilpin, Keith Powers, Sam Richardson, J. K. Simmons, Theo Von, Jasmine Mathews, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Olaolu Winfunke, Seychelle Gabriel, Alan Trong, Chibuikem Uche, Alexis Louder, and Mike Mitchell.
