Check Out The Gruesome First Behind-The-Scenes Image From Season 2 Of AMC's PREACHER

Filming for Season 2 of AMC's Preacher is now officially underway, and star Dominic Cooper (Jesse) has shared a rather disgusting first behind-the-scenes set snap to his Twitter page. Take a look...

It took its sweet time getting there, but the first season of AMC's Preacher pretty much concluded where Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's acclaimed comic series kicked-off, with the Reverend Jesse Custer, Tulip, and Cassidy hitting the road, and the unstoppable Saint of Killers on their tail. Season 2 is expected to get straight into the mayhem, and that's evidenced by Dominic Cooper's Tweet below.

The Warcraft actor shared an image of what appears to be someone's intestines splayed on the road, seemingly from Jesse's perspective.

Season 2 of Preacher doesn't have a premiere date just yet, but we do know it'll consist of 13 episodes this time. Keep an eye on CBM for updates.

@knocturnalzen10 - I think it is. I'm not a guy who loves musicals, but I like jazz and appreciate the art of musical performance, and this film did all of that well.

Also, it had real characters. You could strip out the musical numbers and still paint a film around these people. The acting is stellar and the message is bittersweet and inspiring.

Its a fever dream. Its so well crafted, visually beautifully and so moving.

@knocturnalzen10 - It is visually arresting. Not a huge musical fan either, however "Across the Universe and La La Land were very well done. Also the director is from a jazz family and knows his stuff.

This and Outcast, IMO, were the best CBTV shows last year.

Really liked the first season. Unfolded incrementally, no rush, only giving us as much information as we needed, and only when we needed it, and unlike that other comic-based AMC show, it allowed its big moments to land and resonate rather than rush from big event to the next as if checking off items on a to-do list. Also unlike that other show, when a character behaves in contradiction to their nature in this show, it actually has ramifications, repercussions. In that way it feels almost like a gorier, supernatural Better Call Saul.

I've never been much of a Seth Rogen fan, but devil his due, he knocked it out of the park with Preacher. This was the best comic-based show of 2016, IMO.

@LoudLon - 100% agreed. Not only that, but the show is well-acted across the board, uses musical cues effectively, and looks [frick]ing gorgeous to boot.

@LoudLon - dude the walking dead drags on for daaaays. How can you call it rushed?

@CHUCKisGOD - True there's a lot of padding in TWD now, but when you look at each overall season since Gimple took over, he crams a number of what should be season-long story arcs into each season now. Season 4, for example, had several story lines which individually could easily have spanned half a season, or even a full season if properly explored, on their own -- the super-flu, the Governor's return, the build up to Terminus. How Gimple can cram so many half-assed plot lines into each season yet the show STILL manages to drag on forever is a testament to just how lousy a showrunner he is.

@LoudLon - ok fair enough points. BTW I just finished watching the first episode of PREACHER right now. Holy crap that was a great pilot. If it continues on like this, imma have a new favorite show.

@CHUCKisGOD - I don't want to oversell it -- but yeah, it's pretty damn good, and gets even better as it rolls along, establishing characters, revealing histories, building the mythology.

@CHUCKisGOD - By the time you finish season 1 you love it. But there are some slow dialogue moments that drag a little bit, but you get rewarded down the line.

Loved the first SEason. A little disappointed we didn't get to see the Saint of Killers
kill the devil.

I liked the first season, but didn't love it. The Saint of Killers stuff was spot on. Of the three lead actors, only Gilgun was well cast. I adore Negga, but she's unrecognizable as Tulip. She's basically a completely different character. And Cooper is a fine actor, but he doesn't have Jesse's physical presence and his portrayal is more 'redneck' than 'taciturn'.

I hope it lasts, but I have doubts that this show will get enough seasons to pay off the story.
