The first season of AMC's Preacher acted more as a prequel to Gareth Ennis and Steve Dillon's source material than a direct adaptation, but last night's episode took some steps towards bringing our main characters to the point we meet them at in the comics, and the season finale looks set to continue down that road.

Were you guys shocked by what went down last night? How do you think things will play out next Sunday? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

Tune in for the season finale of Preacher, "Call and Response", next Sunday on AMC.

I see this headline was missed, due to all the comicon news:

@Doomsday8888 - they had to set up character development. I think they've done a fine job of creating an original story on which they can build the actual story from the comics. It's kinda hard to get non preacher fans excited about a story they know nothing of.

Was the bag of severed heads the heads of children? If it was then that is pretty hardcore. I loved the whole Hell sequence.

That Hell reveal scene was pretty cool, Shouldve done it sooner. Episode felt a little disjointed but I enjoyed it. I don't read the comics so I'm guessing the cowboy from hell is their main villain?

Shows been pretty good, this was probably my least favorite episode but it was still enjoyable
