Gotham has introduced us to a lot of Batman's villains years before Bruce Wayne dons the cape and cowl, but the immortal Ra's al Ghul being one of them arguably makes the most sense.
It's been confirmed today that Game of Thrones actor Alexander Siddig will play the leader of the League of Shadows, the second time the bad guy has been portrayed on the small screen. The last time was in season three of Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow season one when Matt Nable took on the role. Siddig's other TV credits include Peaky Blinders and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Here's the official description for what we should expect from this version of Ra's:
Gotham’s take on the classic Batman villain has a connection to another recent adversary. As Bruce (David Mazouz) pulls the veil off the Court of Owls, he finds Ra’s al Ghul is the enigmatic and powerful man pulling the strings. With his past shrouded in mystery, Ra's al Ghul uses cunning and deception to lay waste to his foes. As the leader of an international criminal organization known as the League of Shadows, Ra's al Ghul will prove himself to be Bruce's most dangerous adversary yet.
Siddig is expected to appear in the show when it returns this April, so expect a first look at him suited up to come our way soon enough. What do you guys think of this latest Gotham casting addition?
