Yuri Kolokolnikov To Play 'Styr, The Magnar of Thenn' In Season Four Of GAME OF THRONES
Well-known Russian actor (in the Motherland at least) Yuri Kolokolnikov is a late addition to the cast of the highly anticipated fourth season of HBO's Game of Thrones, as he will play 'Styr, The Magnar of Thenn'. Hit the jump for further details!
Entertainment Weekly have revealed that one final role in the fourth season of Game of Thrones has been filled; Yuri Kolokolnikov as 'Styr, the Magnar of Thenn'. While the name may not instantly ring a bell, he's a big star in Russia after having starred in many movies there. As the site points out, "Styr leads the Thenn, the most warlike tribe from beyond the Wall. At the end of the third season, the tribes are readying to potentially invade Westeros under the leadership of Mance Rayder (Ciarán Hinds) while spy-among-the-Wildlings Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was returned injured to Castle Black with news of their movements." Confusingly, Joseph Gatt was said to be set for this role back in August, so whether he dropped out or is in fact playing someone else remains to be seen at this point.
