AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Trends On Twitter As Fans Demand Marvel Studios #SaveAgentsOfSHIELD

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrapped up on ABC after seven seasons, but fans of the series have begun campaigning for Marvel Studios to "save" the show. Could Agent Coulson and company return to the MCU one day?

It's now been more than a year since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrapped up its seven season run on ABC, but fans of the Marvel Television series remain optimistic that characters and actors from the show will be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The likelihood of this happening is hard to say, especially with both the Darkhold and Mockingbird seemingly rebooted on Disney+ last year.

As time went on, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. went from tying directly into movies like Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier to largely doing its own thing. By the time the finale aired, the series was pretty much fully standalone in nature, so a revival seems unlikely.

Despite that, #SaveAgentsOfSHIELD was trending on Twitter yesterday as eager fans look to get Marvel Studios' attention. The belief seems to be that it paid off with #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and #SaveDaredevil, though considering Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. received the ending the showrunners wanted after seven years on the air, we're not sure Coulson and company need saving.

There have been rumblings of a character from the show possibly appearing in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania with a new actor in the role. That might tell us all we need to know about the likelihood of the series coming back, but this could help ensure we see some familiar faces again.

Th return of Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), for example, would be no bad thing, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has previously played coy when asked if any of Coulson's team could resurface in the MCU one day now Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is over.

Are you on board with getting Marvel Studios to #SaveAgentsOfSHIELD?

Nah I’m good. Found this show very difficult to watch. I found Chloe Bennett’s character super annoying

......Didn't AOS fully end on it's own terms with a fairly definitive ending? I never got past season 4, but I felt like the discourse around it was that they knew the final season would be final a season or 2 in advance.

@OmegaDaGrodd -
They killed Agent Coulson off again in Season 5 without his resurrection ever getting acknowledged by the MCU. The "canon" of that show is already beyond saving. I'm glad fans are finally starting to realise that the Ike Perlmutter shows are irrelevant to the larger MCU, because this has been obvious for years now.

The question was never "Will the non-Feige TV shows get ignored?" (yes), but whether the MCU would be willing to outright contradict them or simply tiptoe around them.

No. Yuck. This show sucked. And I tried SO hard to like it because I used to be a die hard Joss Whedon fan (I still hold Buffy, Angel, Firefly and even Dollhouse dear in my heart, but The Nevers and AoU sucked, his mojo is gone. And he might be a creep, I don’t usually trust the media and he said she said on that stuff but the fact he never made a single comment anout any of it is pretty damning. He went full recluse). Anyway the show had some charms but on the whole it felt like a CW show in that it felt cheap, stupid and cheesy. And not cool MCU cheesy. The Flash on CW cheesy.

@connorblaze - Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen co-created and ran this show from start to finish. Joss only wrote & directed the pilot episode. But still, this doesn't have to be for you. Nobody is forcing you to watch it. Fans of the shows just want to it to be restored as canon, as it was for the first 4 seasons, but especially now with Multi-verse which they did on the show starting with season 5. Eternals wasn't for a lot of people, but it's still canon.

@connorblaze - His first avengers movie hasn’t aged well, IMO.

I thought it was amazing at the time, but then the Russos/Markus/mcfeely came along and showed us how awesome these characters and stories could/should ACTUALLY be.

I honestly find the style he writes dialogue with to be super annoying, just way too many similes/euphemisms, like he tries to make lines way too clever for their own good.

Idk where people get this ‘he writes such sttong women characters!’ thing from, especially when you look at Natasha’s arc across those two movies. He sucks.

@connorblaze - way too network-y, idk why people think of it was movie quality.
